I feel like Nebraska fan today

Nebraska football is on life support… with the NIL and everything that’s changing in college football, I don’t think they’ll have the resources to compete at the level they once were.

Folks in Lincoln should be happy with 9-3 seasons with an occasional 10-2/11-1 year sprinkled in.

9-3? After today looking like another 3-9. And another new coach. But think they might be fired up for OU next weekend. But what a pitiful Defense.

I was speaking in a more general sense. Definitely don’t think they’ll reach 9-3 this year.

I was referring more to the Bo Pelini years where he would routinely go 9-3 (and after the Big12 championship and bowl games, those teams would finish around 9-4/10-4). To me, that’s a solid season in Nebraska.

Now, fast forward to the current conference alignments: The Big10 west is wide open, so I don’t think there is any reason to believe they couldn’t find a 10-2 season and a conference championship appearance every 3-5 years. However, the Tommy Osborne days over long gone.

Part of me actually feels bad for Scott frost. Is he really that bad that there last like 12 losses are by single digits

OU will be Frost's last game at Nebraska. They have a bye the week after that and then his buyout drops from 15 million to 7.5 million. Maybe whoever the interim coach is will get them a couple wins, but it's looking like a 1-11 year right now.

I'm wondering if Nebraska sells their soul to convince Urban Meyer to come there or if they hire another unproven coordinator and continue to struggle.

Frost lost to Helton!!!! So the buyout drop will be the key date. Frost was a journeyman QB and now a journeyman head coach! Maybe Georgia Northern needs a coach?

Once you become Nebraska it takes decades to come back. Took Michigan over a decade to rebound from their shit hires. This MF hire was a dagger and it’ll take a decade to rebuild this program. Dumbest hire is history.

After watching these games for almost 60 years was really surprised about how pitiful the Husker D was. Against a good, but not likely top 10, OU offense over the last twenty years. Don't know if was going to the Big 10 that cut off the Texas H.S. recruiting or the coaching. Looking like the Nebraska teams I saw as a kid in 1955.

I just hope we don’t turn into Nebraska.
We'd be lucky to. Too many Bandwagon ND fans that are going to die out with this boomer generation. Getting an ND season ticket will be easier than stealing a 10 acre ranch in the boon-docks in the next 20 years..

This fan base is weaker than most of you would like to admit, just like the economy.

It's propped up artificially.

Sound like the path we're headed down..
