The projected path and timing of this hurricane looks as though it may be difficult for the game on Saturday to be played. A state of emergency has been issued in North Carolina and I just don't see Notre Dame flying into a state that is under a state of emergency for a hurricane.

What are the odds that they are looking ahead and making plans to get the NC State team out of NC and play this game elsewhere?

Probably zero. If there is a weather situation, the game will probably just be canceled.

I've seen a couple situations where the game was moved to another location because of weather. They did it either last year or the year before for the LSU-South Carolina game.

I am sure they are monitoring it and I think the game likely gets cancelled rather than relocated. Hurricanes are tricky things though and it will not surprise me if it stays out to sea so expect no decision before Friday morning.

Only realistic options would be the Panthers stadium in Charlotte (2 hrs from Raleigh) or the Georgia Dome( 6 hrs from Raleigh). And those are not even very realistic. Raleigh is a good distance from the shore, so it all depends on which track the storm takes.

there have been games moved to end of season in these circumstances

Latest reports don't look good for this game being played in Raleigh on Sat at noon. Sure hope it doesn't get cancelled and they look to move the location or date of the game.

Is it looking better? stalling south which might make a 12 noon...or earlier kickoff possible. ??

BEAT nc state!!!

I live in Raleigh and the latest is that it has slowed, weakened and moving east. If it doesn't pickup speed we probably won't get anything until late Sat / early Sun. That said I have seen enough of these to know you really don't know.

I know it wouldn't be fair to NC State, but if the game is likely to be cancelled, why not ND take the traveling money they were gonna use for that game and pay to have NC State come to ND?

This is from National Hurricane Centre. It has slowed from this morning's prediction and Raleigh seems to be out of the impact area at this time.

Things are looking a bit more promising today. Just hoping it's not soaking rain and 20 mph winds not allowing ND to throw the ball.
