I saw Jarron Jones "Just spit in our faces . . ." tweet.

I'm sure they were already fired up for this game and Kelly will do a job of keeping them focused on winning Saturday.

But in the long run, I wonder if this is something Kelly will draw on to develop some of that killer instinct he said this team has been missing.

they need to play with a serious chip on their shoulder to have any chance vs, Stanford. Stanford will be ready and they will try to punch us in the face w/ their style of play.

I think this is the best thing that could have happened. Kelly's teams always play best when they play angry.

My hope is that it has an affect from Jack S all the way down to the training staff. Time to be like Baylor and if score 50 make it 57, and if you score 57 make it 64 .....

I also hope it makes BK be more aggressive. I want to hear BK in the press conferences saying if you don't want us to score then stop us. We as coaches are not going to call off the dogs.

I'm not a fan of running up the score like that at all. If we get a big lead and throw a short pass to get a first down to help run down the clock late in the game and the guy breaks it for a TD, fine; same with a run from scrimmage. But when you haved pierced the other team's heart and you pause to carve your initials on his forehead, that's a bit much.

Once the opening whistle is sounded, all the blackboard stuff goes south and it comes down to performance between the lines. I don't know what is going to happen but one thing I do know, ND better have a rock solid plan for #5 or it will not be a good night.

A statement victory is about the only thing the committee will understand. I have resisted most of the anti- ND agenda some believe is present, but have to admit the result of last nights rankings makes me wonder.

OU played a weaker SOS and will after Saturday. They got beat by the on common opponent, Texas, that ND animated. How is it possible that ND falls behind them? Iowa has payed no one! I think they lose but hen what?

It's becoming clear that ND does not get equal treatment.

i disagree. they've poorly the last two games. they have a chance to change the perception on saturday. OU is playing better right now. they and bama are two teams that have continued to show improvement since their losses. not sure nd can say that. iowa is only in because they've beaten everyone they've played albeit no one very good. their division is piss poor and they'll get exposed soon enough. maybe saturday. i think if it comes down to nd-OU the common opponent factor will be more scrutinized. herbstreit said the same last night.

My memory of that game, though, was that Ohio State carved them up right from the start. I don't remember them calling any late timeouts or running any fake punts with five minutes to play to pad their lead.

This has been coming ....and there is no excuse.
For the last three weeks Oklahoma has been the media darling. I don't understand why. Its not like they played this ridiculous tough schedule. Blowing teams out....certainly nothing jumps out why the media has just been Oklahoma should be in.

Their recent quality wins were against teams with back up qb's. TCU had the courage to go for two and if they get it OU loses.
All year long you hear how soft the Big 12 is. Suddenly now they must be this amazing power house because Oklahoma beat two teams that a few weeks ago the committee gives off as being not very strong.

I can understand the Iowa jump over us but not Oklahoma and Michigan State.

of course you don't understand.

History in this matchup says a close game all the time. Stanford is a very good offensive team . IF they control the LOS we are in trouble. ND front 7 has to play lights out Saturday nite. RZ opportunites have to result in TD's as well. Kizer is offensive key to the game. IMO THIS game will be very instrumental to him retaining the starting job next Spring. That is not a knock on him but last week's performance needs to be fluke. He Threw 3terrible INT and cannot have that repeat . Regardless of the outcome 11-1 / 10-2 with all of these injuries is a testament to the team and coaches. I felt before the season this team needed to WIN a big bowl game . They will have that opportunity to say the least. I want to see ND play well Saturday night win or lose.

Hey it's their own fault. Wanna make the playoffs? Then don't go to Clemson and drop the ball all over the field? Wanna make the playoffs? Then don't go to Boston and drop the ball all over the field.

Everybody in the world knew that the committee was going to struggle keeping the Big 12 off for the 2nd year in a row. The Irish made their job easy by crapping the bed this past weekend.

If anything, Brian Kely should stand in front of the room and tell the kids that they dug this hole by their play last weekend and only they can pull their way out of it.

You left off getting out played by Wake - they won the yardage battle on our home field.

How do you impress the committee? You win by 25 and in the post game interview you say: " next we are going to eliminate ISIS"

That is a double edge sword. If you beat Stanford by 3 td's then they will be over rated and if ND beats them 1 then ND is over rated so you are screwed if you do and screwed if you don't.
