How can baseball be unranked after last year’s CWS?

Because the coach is gone and a lot of the players are gone. Not even close to the same team.
Baseball America has Irish 13th in the conference. Every year they underrate us. ND did lose some great players at second and third base and in the bullpen. But they have a lot coming back and coming in. This is an NCAA tournament team just not a host. Then again NCAA did not let us host last year.
The season is long and just starting. No doubt there will be a learning curve with a new coach and new players.

Swarbrick has taken ND athletics to the dumpster. Highest paid AD in the land and the teams he oversees are a minor league for big time schools.
This team has been pushed to the brink of obscurity a few times but has not thrown in the towel. Big home series this weekend. 2 out of 3 gets us to .500 In conference (which is probably the barometer for postseason). I greatly enjoyed the offbeat experience of the Miss St and Tennessee super regionals but would love to go to regionals this year. Go Irish!!
Yeah really an odd choice to critique Swarbrick in a baseball thread the year after we go to Omaha as a northern team.
