Syracuse is appealing the NCAA sanctions that are supposed to hold them to just 10 scholarships in the 2016-17 season. In the event the NCAA somehow decides to open up more scholarships through the appeal, Notre Dame target Kevin Huerter could reopen his interest in the Orange.

Huerter is a 6-5, 175-pound four-star guard from Clifton Park, N.Y., and plays for Shenendehowa High there. He's ranked as the No. 80 overall player nationally. As we've previously reported, he's supposed to visit campus over the Sept. 25 weekend for the UMass game.
