Three Notre Dame hockey players signed pro contracts in the past week: senior defenseman Spencer Stastney, senior forward Graham Slaggert, and graduate senior defenseman Adam Karashik.
The NHL's Nashville Predators announced a two-year, entry-level contract with Stastney that will begin with the 2022-23 season. The Predators previously selected Statsney in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Stastney finished his Notre Dame career with 143 games played, 63 points on 16 goals and 47 assists, and 212 blocked shots. He was named the team's Monogram Club MVP following the 2021-22 season in which he tied for second on the team with 27 points (seven goals and 20 assists).
The Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced a one-year contract with Slaggert for the 2022-23 season. He will finish the 2021-22 season on an amateur tryout (ATO).
Slaggert scored Notre Dame's overtime winner in the first round of this year's NCAA Tournament to beat North Dakota. Slaggert was named to the Albany (N.Y.) All-Regional Team after a 1-0 loss to Minnesota State. He scored a career-high 12 goals as a senior in 2021-22.
Slaggert, the older brother of sophomore forward Landon Slaggert and son of Notre Dame associate head coach Andy Slaggert, finished his career with 143 games played and 69 points on 27 goals and 42 assists.
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced a one-year contract with Karashik for the 2022-23 season. He will finish the 2021-22 season on a professional tryout (PTO).
Karashik, a graduate transfer from UConn, played in all 40 games in his lone season with the Irish. He recorded career highs in points (16) and assists (15). Karashik ended his season ranked first in the Big Ten and third in Division I with 99 blocked shots. He was also named to the Albany All-Regional Team.
