Hire Dantonio

Common thought is that there aren't any names big enough that are available to make a switch now ... so we should keep what isn't working and frankly has become embarassing for the program

If Kelly's extension has ANY bearing on keeping him than that is on Swarbick .... he screwed this up and has to own up to it .... really the 1st guy that needs to go if we are placing blame

I refuse to believe that there are only 3-4 names big enough ... good enough ... to run this program successfully .... even if you can't see it now ... if you;re the AD it is your job to go find one and not wait for one to be gift wrapped for you

Dantonio is 60 .... he can easily coach until he is 67 ... 7 years is what about all ND coaches max out at ... period .... I've said for years that I would love to see what he could do at ND given what he has done with MSU ... some of you may have forgotten by now what the previous 50 years at MSU were like before he got there .... they were a laughing stock ... even became UM's big brother

Mark Dantonio would not leave MSU for ND. He is a native Texan and declined an interview opportunity with Texas 3 years ago. Nobody believes ND is a better job than Texas.

He wasn't coming off a 3-9 season back then, and Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh were not recruiting against him on a daily basis.

I just want a HC that will make us all proud fans of ND. I don't necessarily get excited over a HC prospect just because he is young, and I don't get turned off by a prospect just because he is 60. Dantonio can flat out coach. He accomplished more with less consistently at MSU and I think he would quickly turn ND into a regular top ten team. There are other names being thrown around here, and I like a few more than Dantonio, but I would be very happy if he was our next HC.

My only concern with Dantonio is that he didn't do as well after Narduzzi left for Pitt. Other than that, I think he is great at getting the most out of his players.

Why don't you for a 1st time explain how clueless I am and explain how Dantonio would be a bad choice .... unlike ND hoops ... you can't run this team like the NBA .... stupid analogy ..... no surprise

There are certainly other options .... but one line in your post sticks out (if accurate) .... "I think he would quickly turn ND into a top ten team" .... if true ... isn't this what we want? ..... I think it is accurate .... thinking about it in those terms seems like a no brainer
