I'm trying to add an avatar so that I can more easily find my prior posts in a sea of blank faces scrolling down a thread, and also to not have a completely vanilla presence. I'll start by saying I'm not the sharpest knife in the internet drawer. More like a spoon, actually, but I did try to add an avatar, repeatedly, by following directions. I went to my name, upper right, clicked on avatar, and choose file, which opened a window on my Mac. I then, at least four or five times, took different pics from my desk top file (in that open window), highlighted the image, and clicked "choose." I kept getting the same " error: not a valid image" message in the Rivals' avatar window. None of these pics were porn, though I'm not ruling that out. They were all .jpg
