They nailed it yesterday. The suspense was riveting when they went to review to determine it was 2nd down and not 3rd. Is there anything they aren't reviewing this year??

Was there a targeting non call issue in the game? The play where the helmet was chipped. BK was asked about it in the post game?

They went to review after that play, but then didn't say a word before they resumed play. I had to only guess that was the issue.

OK. Wonder why BK was upset about that play? He didn't want to comment on it for fear of getting himself in trouble.

It looked bad live because a huge chunk of gold flew off Tony Jones helmet. Watching the replay though, it was not targeting. I think BK was still a little upset about the non call last week too.

This whole thing is a classic case of a rule made for player safety becoming a major CF because too many people interpret it in their own individual way. Time after time it’s the result from high speed contact and/or the offensive player ducking into the contact either instinctively or in an attempt to protect themselves. It seems to be a total hit and miss thing from each refereeing crew. This so called second level/off site assessment or review has added even bigger inconsistency. That’s where all the understandable frustration is with the coaches.

I just watched the play and IMHO, it was football. No targeting. I think BK is just making a point about the past obvious calls that were not made.

Many times it comes across as a "hard hit" foul that doesn't fit the definition of targetting. Tuitt vs Pitt in 2013 comes to mind.

They announced 3rd down on the play. I think that is why he was upset. At least the majority of the frustration.
