hats off to michigan coach jim harbaugh

UM was going to show the movie American sniper but then from what i read they decided to not show it due to fears over offending certain students. well from what was written coach JH basically said the hell with that. he tweeted something saying that Michigan football was going to watch American sniper and that he was proud of chris kyle and also proud to be American and that if that offends anyone then so be it. say what you want about coach JH but i'm proud of him for standing up to Michigan officials and still showing a movie to his players about a true American hero

Good on Harbaugh for standing up for something that he believes in. Unfortunately he had to go with a movie about a pathological liar like Chris Kyle.

The guy made up stories about killing people after Hurricane Katrina, made up a story about being car jacked in Texas, made up a story about punching Jessie Ventura. I'm not sure why we trust anything the guy says. He's not respected amongst anyone in the military who knows the truth behind his stories.

Unfortunately Chris Kyle was an exaggerator om the scale of Brian Williams and Bill O'Reilly, while thankfully not a liar to the degree of Mo1e who we see lie here most often.

That said, Chris Kyle is an American Hero while B, Williams, Bill O'Reilly and Mo1e are simply pathological liars.



I applaud Jim Harbough for his stance.

for some reason granite I did not know about the lawsuit. a lot of us guys at work talked about chris kyle while the movie about him was out but I never heard of this from anybody

Notre Dame and Michigan need to get back to playing each other. Some teams are simply meant to play each other, no matter the politics. Hopefully they can renew the series again. It's a great rivalry for both schools and it's great for college football.

Hats off to JH indeed ! Chris Kyle was an Americam patriot who was murdered while teying to help other American veterans. His story should be told!

The lawsuit was held in extremely flower power liberal Minnesota. The jury ruled on whether Ventura was defamed. The ruling was not whether he was actually punched or not. I am neutral as I wasn't there when the incident happened. Conflicting testimony from those that were key witnesses. Kyle's attorneys say the eleven witnesses were solid and consistent. Ventura's attorney says there was conflicting testimony. If you hold the position of anti military and anti police then you are probably going to side with Ventura. Since I wasn't there nor anyone else on this board, it is impossible to make a credible judgment about the case.

How about the position of truth? I dont give a crap about Ventura, but Kyle was caught in many lies.

That being said, I have much respect for his service and feel bad for his wife and family as the losing the lawsuit was a financial hardship for them from what Ive read.

I guess I don't get where all the anti-military talk comes from when
referring to Venture. You are aware he was a Navy SEAL, correct?

It wasn't aimed at Ventura. I knew he had service to our country but I did not think it was exactly as a SEAL. I thought it was an outfit closely related but I might have read the article wrong. I thank him for his service but all that good is being undone by his attitude about 911 and the USA in general.
