they still gave him a regular scholly so whats the problem. Not like he said sorry see ya.

Wow... He's hurt his knee twice but come on? Let him try. They can always Medical him after the Spring or Fall camps if he can't prove he can play.

"Come to UM if you want but your football career will be over"

Seriously???

.... if doctors told him he couldn't play this would be a generous offer .... but doctors told him the exact opposite ..... clearly it's not a "regular" scholly .... sheesh

the problem i see is that the kid was quoted in an interview as saying it has always been his dream to play for Mich. So while yes, he can get an education there, Harbaugh is essentially telling him he cant pursue his dream of playing there. Now there may be more to the story, like some medical experts think he shouldnt play, but that isnt in the story. I think its pretty obvious they have some bigger fish to fry now and its a convenient way out. If they REALLY wanted him, they'd give him a shot and medical hardship him after he was on campus if it was apparent he really couldnt go. But they're pulling the chord on this before he ever gets there.

Watch it Buguit, Harbaugh is an untouchable on this board. Diss him at your own peril. Only dissing Coach Kelly is allowed.

So if Harbaugh tells the kid there isn't room at Michigan for him because what his staff is seeing on the films but still offers him academics he is a bad guy?

He is doing this early enough in the process if the kid wants to go somewhere to play he can. Its not like he waited to see if the could flip walker and the. Dropped him later on in the process. Non story imo

wow, so he was important enough to OFFER a schollie to back whenever they did, important enough to ACCEPT a verbal from when the kid wanted to but now he isnt important enough to see if he can return from injury? That would've been like ND pulling Josh Adams' schollie cause they could land a 5* RB and say well you can still get an ND degree, when the kid has said it was his life's dream to play for ND. I'm amazed how much people will defend Harbaugh on an ND board, i'd expect that on a UM site.

and this story isnt in a vacuum, just last week there was a story about another RB commit that was "opening up his recruitment" and visiting Purdue. Like who commits to UM BEFORE the season and then decommits after the season they've had to possibly go to Purdue, who's won 1 Big 10 game in 3 years?

How similar are the two injuries? What are the similarities in recovery expectations? How many tears did Adams have before his injury last year? What are the Michigan doctors seeing on the kid's films and how similar are those to the films ND doctors had on Adams?

Don't really care about the story but the amount of unknowns here make it easy to say "sucks to be that kid but at least he still has a chance to go find a school that will let him play". They will still honor the scholarship at UM, thought education was supposed to be primary anyways.

Many posters on this board want to sound very professional (They think) by kissing all the opposing coaches collective a$$'s. It started with Paul Johnson then Shaw and then Harbaugh. It will be the Temple coach next and then back to Shaw,

Falcon 4 star 6'1" 210 from Southfield MI accepted the um scholarship last April. He had offers from:

Akron
ASU
Ark
Cinci
Ill
IN
Iowa
Nebraska
NC State
N Ill
NW
OSU
Purdue
TN
Toledo
UCLA
Vanderbilt
WF
W Va

This is not unprecedented for Harbaugh. WR W Reuland who holds virtually every receiving record at Mission Viejo HS was given a scholarship to Stanford. At the time he was 6' 5" 220, ran a 10.1 hundred and had a 42 inch vertical. (Also cleared 6' 8" in the high jump with no experience/training tied for 1st OC). He was a match up nightmare for Richard Sherman and they are still good friends. He played 9 games as a FR and heading into his SO year he suffered a second ACL tear in his opposite leg. At that point Harbaugh told him he could stay on medical scholarship, but the risk of permanent injury was too great to play. Reuland's dad is a Dr and agreed. He's now in med school.

This is Falcon's second ACL tear. I don't know if it's the same leg, same ligament or opposite....

It seems to me that Harbaugh is preventing/trying to prevent a potentially crippling injury....

He's done so in the past and that family is grateful....

Ok I'm curious about something there.....

Could there be legal implications by knowing of his previous injuries and playing him anyways.? Is Michigan protecting themselves here?
There has to be more to the story

Still gets a free ride to college. What the hell is the problem. If he wants to play go somewhere else. Not really that hard to understand. But then again, look who started this thread.

Old Bugit diss coach Kelly often enough.

I call him out when he deserves to be ..... I'm not a blind homer like you ..... And not calling him out on the small stuff either .... He is responsible for some serious head scratchers .... Go buy a new box of tissues

There is some nice back and forth.

How did this series ever get dropped.
