they face both MSU and tOSU so they control their own destiny. Could the Big10 wind up eliminating itself from the playoffs by having 2 loss teams at best?

tOSU will, as is Meyers style, get better as the season gets to 'crunch' time; but they do have problems
MSU has good players; but nothing 'wows' you.

I don't care if it's Eastern Michigan. You have a nice lead and you FINISH the game. No let up. That's what they have been doing.

Harbaugh's teams play my kind of football. Not that I'd want him at ND … but it would be nice to have someone who coaches a similar kind of game.

I hope Michigan fans don't get too comfy with Coach Harbaugh because he will be headed to the Chicago Bears within 3-4 years.

well the oft heard 'coaches know more than fans', did not see the poor job the Ind. coach did in the ladt 3 minutes of that game!

Gave Utah all they could handle...still had a chance to win at the end. UM is for real under Harbaugh.

Very disciplined, very physical...... I didn't see the game, but a um grad said they got off to a slow start..... He can't believe the leap in style from last year......

the clock management led to the chaos at the end; he might as well have snapped the ball over the QB's head
I take you never played football in your life... Fourth and goal didn't matter if there was a minute left. Back up quarterback played his heart out.

if you thought that was good clock management then - you get a scholarship to the Rich Kotite school of coaching.
Back up 2 minutes!

It was fourth and goal how much time do you need? They had a illegal procedure penalty on third down which backed them up. So if they had two minutes they would have been better off? You don't wanna leave Ohio St any time on the clock. The snap is what screwed up the final play not the clock..

the team needed to slow down in the last drive and regroup; the penalties were avoidable. It as a QB that you bring to the sidelines and go over things.

The play calling also sucked.

Sorry IU had a chance to win the game at the end.. I respectfully disagree with you.

NW is playing best fb in the conference with quality wins over Stanford Duke and a very impressive shutout over Minny. UM has its hands full as we must also play MSU and OSU. But clearly, UM is on right track and Harbaughs impact is indisputable.

"tOSU will, as is Meyers style, get better as the season gets to 'crunch' time; but they do have problems."

The main OSU problem through the first five games is TURNOVERS and boneheaded plays. 3 to 5 TOs almost every game. Heck, we had 4 TOs in the NCG against Oregon. It's going to bite us in the butt eventually just like the 4 TOs bit Notre Dame yesterday. They have to stop. Right now, OSU is its own worst enemy.

What's pathetic is that osu still gets credit despite their awful schedule. It would be nice to have all those turnovers and work out all the issues while playing a glorified scrimmage every week. Just like last year. They get to practice all year to get things ready for the post season while other teams actually play real football. I could name 5 or 6 teams that would have beat osu today including ND but they they get to play Indiana followed by Rutgers and Maryland. Sad.

Dude NDs first 4 games weren't exactly against juggernauts. Names were big but it appears the teams were not

USC and MSU cancel each other out. The rest of the way out but they are generally both pretty ehhh.

"Names were big but it appears the teams were not"

And vice versa. Ask Bert Bielema who also went off on OSU's schedule and forgot about MAC member, Toledo. We scheduled VT when they were kicking butt a few years ago. Not OSU's fault they fell on their face in recent years. Northern Illinois has won 10 or 11 games a a few MAC titles in the last 5 or 6 years. We always try to schedule at least on "perceived" OOC football power every year - we can start with next year's H&A with Oklahoma. Then of course we're a member of the ever improving BIG which now lists some pretty darn good coaches and I believe that's where it all starts at: good/great coaching. To sum it up, looking at a team's schedule and calling it weak - on paper - can be very deceiving especially if you're judging by the past accomplishments of schools.

No, they get credit for how they woke up late last year when the competition got tougher. The demolition of Wisconsin (who beat Auburn in their bowl), and the wins vs Alabama and Oregon is why they are given the benefit of the doubt. They brought back almost their entire team. Not everyone ranks teams on what have you done THIS year. If they did, Northwestern might be number 1.

Michigan's defense is legit, their offense is terrible.

Michigan is playing pretty good right now but there competition hasn't been great and so i'll wait until they beat some better competition before I call them a great team. Utah is very good but Michigan didn't win that game and has wins only against weak teams

Terrible compared to one of the best defenses in the country. The offense would be fine if we had even a middling QB. Rudock is still playing like a shaky true frosh.
