I am especially excited to see how Loghan Thomas will play this next season. Although his snaps outside of special teams play were limited last season, there were flashes of a kid who might become a really good player. I didn't know he ran track and field in HS. According to a google search, he ran a 23.23 200m. That isn't an elite time, but it is plenty fast for a kid that is Loghan's size. Hopefully he can turn his athleticism into some dominating play. Loghan and Bryce Young could turn into a pair of monster DEs. The future is bright.

I am also excited to see how Kedren Young does this year. Getting snaps with Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price in front of him may be a problem, but he looked really good in the little bit that he played last year, and he has the physique of a real bruiser.

Pretty good list. I think he hit on 4 candidates and completely missed on 2. Bauman and Vernon were pretty bad additions to the list imo.

Armed Mukam is ahead of Vernon right now in the depth chart and is younger and has way more potential so if he hits and is a workout warrior that would be much more significant than Vernon.

Thomas was his best one on the list.

Bauman best case scenario if he's the number 3 tight end who is a good blocker and has an occasional catch.

Cam Williams or KK Smith would be some guys that should be on the list rather than a Bauman or Vernon

Well considering Eric Hansen has been covering ND football up close and personal for quite some time and is one of the most respected of the folks who do that job I am way, way, way more inclined to take his opinion to heart than a poster who's not present on a regular basis and has no interaction at all with the team or staff and just throws stuff against the wall and hopes it sticks. That said, great read and very informative.

Lol. It's his opinion. It's an opinion piece. He also has zero presence during winter workouts. Just a very ignorant response by you. Like saying before the Raiders drafted Jamarcus Russell, they are in the nfl and much better at evaluating players so I shouldn't have thought he was going to be a bust because they told me so.

So do you want to make a wager on who will have the bigger impact on this team between Vernon and Mukam ? I dont know anything so it should be an easy one for you.

God forbid we disagree with an opinion article from someone who covers the team. Oh the outrage lol

Depends how you take it.

Cam williams and KK smith aren't going into spring trying to transform their bodies and strength to get on the field.

Mukam, sevilliano would be two for me, and talich.

Knapp for sure on offense.

My 6 would be that need major body work

Thomas
Knapp
Sevilliano
Mukam
Talich
Rubio

Rubio has missed a lot of workout time, and he needs to gain endurance, and more strength/muscle as he will be counted on

Winter workout warrior is clearly about people that need to get bigger/stronger/faster etc.

That's not Sneed, Bauman, Young. They pretty much are what they are (yes everyone will workout to improve). But those 3 don't have to reshape their body or make huge gains.

The 6 i mentioned, IMO do.

If you are using transform their bodies and strength to get on the field then yeah KK Smith would be up there on that one too. That's the biggest thing holding him back besides health

Using your criteria Id go

Thomas
Mukam
Sevillano
Knapp
Smith
Brauntae Johnson

I like all of yours except Talich. I dont think he needs much more growing too do from a physical standpoint.

The Bauman one was very odd from his list

Talich is still way too thin for me

Kk I see like Devontae smith where they need to keep there thin build, they don’t have a body or style for adding much weight. He needs to stay healthy and see what he’s got

I don’t think there were any BAD additions to Eric’s list, but I agree with Golson that I would have liked to have seen Mukam listed and commentary on his development.

The issue I and probably others have is the title of his article. He didn’t stay consistent to the title. A few on his list don’t have to transform their bodies or make huge leaps in weight
