Interesting article from JJ Stankevitz
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The question of whether or not Everett Golson will still be at Notre Dame this fall won't be definitively answered until the summer. But first-year Irish offensve coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Sanford has liked what's he's seen attitude-wise from the 23-game starter this spring.
Sanford's initial impression of Golson, though, isn't of someone who's already eyeing his exit from South Bend.
"The thing about Everett that I've been so appreciative of is his buy-in," Sanford said. "Everett's been outstanding in the meeting room environment. He's just been taking unbelievably good notes, very attentive, very engaged in the process. He's very engaged in the mental side of the game.
"And then at practice he's self-correcting. I've been very impressed with the mental side of his development as well as his willingness to develop and change and modify what needed to be changed in his footwork and his mechanics. But he really is a clean mechanical quarterback from the standpoint of throwing process. And I really, really like his coachability."
