I cannot spare the funds at the moment, but anyone driven enough to help out there and has some extra cash, could save the 2017 season by mailing this book to Brian Kelly and Jack Sawrbrick.

Truly one of the best books I've ever read. Apparently it is being given to many professional athletes, CEO's and Olympians as ego is a common cause of failure at elite levels. Not be be confused with belief. Want BK to give some power up to his OC? Want him to hire a DC from outside the program? Want him to cool his jets on the sideline? Want him to focus his energy on winning games? Want him to think of winning as a team effort rather than a personal effort? What him to stop placing blame on others? Want him to change in other ways? Get him this book.

Lots of good sports references in the book as well. The great SF 49'ers seasons are mentioned often. Bill Bellicheck and Jackie Robinson are amongst the many sports heroes referenced.

"A floor doesn't stay clean because you've swept it once; it must be swept again and again."

This book will give Kelly the tools to do that.

You actually think Kelly would read such a book?

Kelly has been a head (college) coach for 26 years - he knows it all and does not need to read a book on coaching!

You don't believe me?

Just ask Kelly himself - I am confident that he - in some form of politician's drivel - would tell you himself!

Interesting.

Ara was exactly the opposite then. After ND lost in the Cotton Bowl to Texas in 1970, Ara studied up (I think I read somewhere he went to a workshop or something offered by Darrell Royal) on the wishbone offense ... not to use it, but to understand it so he could develop a defense against it. The next time ND played Texas ... they pretty well shut down the wishbone.

Oh - I could see that Ara (and coaches like him) would always try to improve as a head coach.

In fact, years ago at ND Lou was quoted as saying he called up a number of successful head coaches to ask them how they prepared their respective teams to prepare for a big game.

Kelly, on the other hand, after a total failure in 'over passing' the ball in hurricane-like conditions vs NCS - said in his post-game presser that he was not going to start second-guessing his game plan (a 'plan' that failed in the first half and without adjustments - failed just as bad in the second half). So with a game-plan that was never adjusted in-game and led to a loss, why analyze it - when one could just repeat the process.

Stubbornness? Pride/Conceit? That's just Kelly.......we "better get used to it" (apparently Jack Swarbrick has).

I'd rather give Kelly a resignation letter for him to hand to Swarbrick.
