With USC going into the B1G. That means 4-5 trips to the midwest every year. During Odd years ND would be an additional trip bringing the total to 5-6 trips. B1G is doing away with divisions which means SC could potentially play Maryland Rutgers and Penn State on the road. I noticed that the series is only scheduled until 2026. Wondering if it will go by the wayside at some point or be played less frequently ala Meatchicken.

If they require 9 conference games, I can see ND/USC getting altered from their traditional game slots -- even not playing annually.

It would very much surprise me for this game to be played on anything less than an annual basis. I think both schools would like for it to continue. But it is conceivable that it could be moved up to September, prior to the start of the Big 10 season.

Amazing how dim some people are.

USC has been arguably the most famous non conference rivalry for how long; and some rather dim bulbs really do not get that.

Please explain where any of this pondering is dim? As you so pontificated.... And I'd check my grammar before you start attacking people's intellects.

To your point. I'm looking at it more from the perspective of travel. Even in September, that is 4-6 potential trips to the Midwest or East Coast per year. As of now SC never travels past the Rockies and rarely has done so, except every other year.

Wrong. USC and Notre Dame will always play annually.

If the two California schools were concerned about too much travel to the Midwest, they shouldn't have joined the Big 10. The statement that USC never travels past the Rockies is not true. In the past 20 or so years, they have traveled to Texas, Boston College, Ohio St., Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas St. and Auburn.

You really listed 7 games in 20 years? Did you read what I said? As of now SC never travels past the Rockies and rarely has done so, except every other year.

My hope and expectation is that ND and USC will play annually at least until I’m back to dust. I get excited when we play Georgia and Michigan, et al…. But I consider this our one pure rivalry game that generates more excitement and interest on my part than all the others. I wish we would go back to this being the last game of the season, played every Saturday after Thanksgiving.

They will.

I don't think that is how BIG travel will work. Assume 8 conference games, four at home and four away. Each team will guaranteed certain opponents every year. One of SC's will be UCLA. Probably another will be Nebraska, about a 45 minute longer flight than Seattle. So, SC will make two trips per year longer than the team is used to.

I hope so -- I love the rivalry

Time will tell as conference schedules get aligned and what open slots ND has available after all the shuffling.

Is the B10 going to 8 or 9 conference games when they join? I think, currently, they have a 9 game conference schedule.

Like I said 4-5 away games per year. they wont get Nebraska every year. You're dreaming.

If they are in the Big Ten west, they are going to need the competition. If they are in the Big Ten East, they will have one hell of a schedule with Michigan, Ohio state, and Notre Dame, all the same season

Well... unlike you I know when I'm wrong and don't create my own logic to be right. Have some accountability. You were a Marine for Christ's sake.

Right. Only you know all the answers. No one else knows what they are talking about.
I don't have all the answers but I do learn things. I learned today that you're a douche. I will just ignore you.

"There will certainly be an emphasis on how to feature USC on the Big Ten’s various TV partners. The nondivisional setup is meant to provide flexibility for showcasing the Trojans across the conference instead of locking them into one part of the conference (the schools attached to the Big Ten West)."

I guess Kevin Warren thinks he has all the answers too...

I don't think the BIG is locked into maintaining divisions.

Riley’s defenses are going to get demolished by Ohio State and Michigan. Also, Nelson is not Caleb Williams. IDK if I see this going well for USC. They have never faced a gauntlet like the Big 10 of physical nasty play every weekend. Then you keep ND, one of the more physical teams as a rivalry yearly. Ouch. Also, cold weather November games are not fun. Expect injuries and odd matchups.

Finally someone who gets it. That's been my point. Like the B1G was gonna say "Hey SC Welcome! We will only have you play NW, Iowa, Nebraska, etc. And you can play all your home games in November." B1G is gonna have them in Happy Valley on a Saturday Night White Out in November, because that's ratings baby!!

At least they are not trying to hide how the TV networks run the conference.

Maybe. That isn't my understanding. It's not like travel issues didn't come up when they were in discussions. There is little doubt they agreed to allow playing UCLA every year. The insiders, whatever they know, say that out of the eight (let's assume) games each team would have three that are the same every year. for SC those three would be UCLA and two closer teams. The remaining games would be rotated, but half would be home of course. Remember if SC has to go the Rutgers in means Rutgers has to go to SC. The league isn't interested in making things harder than necessary.
