From ESPN's @McShay13: "10 of our top 150 prospects will be playing in this game on Saturday. All 10 of them will be wearing gold helmets."

Unreal job recruiting and developing this staff has done. Wow wow wow is all I can say.

That's impressive.

talking about top 150 prospects I just read today that big time 4 star GA DE/OLB Robert Beal from norcross will be attending the game as a guest of Clemson but he's probably going there more so to check out our irish in person than Clemson as several insiders seem to think that our irish are the team to beat. the kid has offers from just about every top program in the country. the kid has a grandfather in south bend and really likes it there from what I've read

I could be wrong, but I think he's referring to draft eligible NFL prospects. Watson is not draft eligible until 2017.

ah, well not surprised, it is a young Clemson team, somewhat decimated by injury. The Clemson top 8 recruiting group from 2011 is gone. The 2015 4-8th ranked class Fr. are the guys being called to play early.

On a neutral field ND would be TD fav. But the home field advantage is a big factor in this game.
Clemson defensively reminds me of MSU teams ND faced in recent years. Offensively the loss of a deep threat (Williams) puts the offense entirely on the shoulders of Watson to 'create'.

Joaquin will be the 'key player' in this game!

What about that McKenzie kid Clemson fans have been talking up? Is he just a sophomore?

ND recruited that kid; Fuller will be his assignment. He is very good, but Fuller will have a bit of size on him.
Mack is 5'10-11, and 190ish. Should be a duel; if weather permits.

Mackensie Alexander is draft eligible. McShay just didn't have him in the top 150. He may have been overlooked, but then again he was listed behind a lot of other quality cornerbacks this summer. In fact, Alexander wasn't voted to the preseason ACC team by the ACC media, Florida State's and Virginia Tech's corner's were.

And for reference, ESPN #CFBrank actually had Alexander ranked right behind . . . KeiVarae Russell

Of course, none of that really matter come Saturday night, and whatever Alexander's draft rating might be he's a very good corner.

I'm really just going by memory, but I think there was abnormally good number of talented defensive back recruits in 2013. Alexander has the misfortune of being a good cornerback in a class with a bunch of good cornerbacks.

Shaq Lawson? Jayron Kearse? Mike Williams? Maybe he isn't counted since he isn't playing, but McShay listed Williams as his #3 draft eligible receiver pre-season.

He said what he said...no need to get butt-hurt over it. ND has heard way worse than that over the years. You're hosting a good team this Saturday and, regardless of the weather, it's going to be a good game. If CU wins then my hat is tipped to you.

Williams isn't counted because of the injury and all of the unknown factors surrounding that I believe. I do know there are online blogs that have Lawson and Kearse outside the top 10 at their positions. Based on positional value I could see where both are outside of the top 150 if they aren't top 10 prospects at their position but I do find it surprising that McShay said that.

Mcshay was referring to people who would be playing in the game, which explains why Williams wouldn't have been considered. I don't know where he had the others you mentioned on his draft board.

Clemson has four, 5 stars on its roster:
Watson
R McLeod
Deon Cain
Christian Wilkins

Several very high four stars:
M Hyatt
Fruhmorgan
Mack Alexander
Kearse
Crowder
All the wideouts
Lawson

I guess we are a lot younger
