Great win, congrats. ND looked impressive. I know we've been rooting for each other to make ourselves look better, but at what point do we hope one of us loses haha...we might be fighting for the same playoff spot.

If we win out and lose a close one to Bama in the SEC title game, while ND wins out, do we both make it? Who would you choose over the other? ND clearly would have the better resume, especially with Miami, NC State & Stanford playing well now. But we win the head to head. You can make a case either way. Still a lot of football to be played, will be fun to see how it plays out.

I asked this past week, who would win in a game between USC and Georgia. This coming week I will ask who would win in a game between NCST and Georgia. Just trying to compare the rest of our schedule with The Dawgs and get a feel of things to come.

I think we would be favored in every remaining game with your schedule. But I also think ND will be favored in every remaining game.

After Florida next week, we play South Carolina (who beat NC State), still have Auburn on the road, a pretty good GA Tech team, then most likely Bama. Your path is still more difficult, though we'd both agree Bama is a level above anyone on either of our schedules.

Thanks, and congrats on your excellent season so far as well. But I had the same thought - that we could be competing for the same playoff spot at the end. So I'm going to have to start rooting against you guys.

Should be an exciting 2nd half.

I think if that happened this would be the seeding:
1. Alabama
2. PSU (please don't)
3. Georgia
4. Notre Dame

I think Georgia beating ND on the road gives the edge. I have yet to meet a bad GA fan. If you guys make the playoffs and ND doesn't, I'll definitely cheer for you guys! Even if ND does, I'll hope to see a rematch in the championship.

I could also see Sisky getting in the way (that was a typo but I decided to keep it lol)

Quite hypothetical at this point with the level of difficulty for both teams schedule but I'll let myself play along for today. Should UGA go into the SEC championship undefeated and lose by a wide margin I think ND gets in ahead of the Dawgs. The real problem would be if an 11-1 UGA team goes in and beats Bama than safe to say that we are behind them.

If we beat Bama, we might be the #1 overall seed (assuming everyone else has 1 loss). That win would vault us up pretty high...and I still think ND would be among the top 4.

It's in our best interest to root for a two-loss Pac 10 champ and 2-loss BIG 12 champ. If Miami beats Clemson, but loses to ND, ND would be the unofficial ACC representative, leaving Bama, Georgia & a one-loss Ohio State or Penn State.

I think it works to both teams advantage to win out. I've never met a Georgian that I didn't like. Good luck and Godspeed on your journey.

I am a Georgia fan since our game with them. The fan base I met at the game were absolutely down home, hard working, extremely friendly, real people. God bless them all. I still want to beat them on the field of play though. Good luck to the Dawgs.

All we have to do is root for UGA and ND to win out. A rematch goes to Nd IMO.

I have a ton of respect for UGA. I've heard nothing but good things from people at the game about the fans, and the game was just a hell of a game between 2 good teams.

In the scenario you've set up, I think Georgia has to take precedence over ND because of the head-to-head match-up. I'm hoping both teams win out, then have a rematch in the national championship game.

But I'm supposed to take these games week-to-week. So, I'm looking too far ahead. NC State should give us ND fans plenty to worry about for the time being.

I root for an undefeated Georgia or two loss Georgia, as weird as that sounds.

The last time Georgia was favored by as much as 14 points over Florida was in 1985, pre-Spurrier. That's the spread Saturday. With the SEC East teams just stinking it up, other than Kentucky, UGA's strength of schedule needs us to keep winning, Georgia Tech to keep winning, and to play an undefeated Bama in Atlanta.

But don't go to sleep on Auburn. They can beat UGA on any given day.

That statement is very true, especially since it's at Auburn. But let me throw this little stat out there. Since 2006, the only two times Auburn has beaten Georgia is when they made it to the National Title game with Cam Newton and Nick Marshall. Other than those two years, Georgia has won by an average of 21 points.

I doubt either team will make it. PSU and TCU will get the nod. Obviously if Georgia beats Bama they'll get in. ND is screwed unless PSU and TCU lose, Georgia loses twice, etc. Not happening. Too many unrealistic fans.

I think the committee will eschew rematches and independents.

All this talk about getting into the playoffs is placing the cart in front of the horse.

We were 4-8 last year. Just focus on each game as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliche but we are definitely a work in progress. Talk about qualifying for the playoffs just assumes what we aren't right now, an 11-1 team. We are a 6-1 team that plays a very tough final 5 games that we would be really fortunate to win.

I suspect NCSU is the same boat with Clemson coming up and then a possible ACC championship game.

Georgia fans are going to be nice to ND fans because they beat ND.

If they want Georgia in the playoffs, they will beat Auburn, if not, they will lose to Auburn. Auburn might throw the game just like they did against LSU.
