Freeman Confirms New Uniforms For Friday-But Hasn't Seen Them

Per Pete Sampson.
The strong rumor going around is that they are black. Which is absolutely horrendous since black isn't in ND's color scheme.
I have always loved the traditional blue and gold. Such a timeless and classic look. But I also understand and acknowledge that I am both old and old fashioned. I see the world differently than an 18-22 year old. If a different color--be it black or midnight blue--gets the team to play on Friday night with a little extra pep in their step and fire in their bellies, then what is the harm? I wouldn't want it to become a commonplace thing, but this game will be an historic first for a football team and a university that has a history second to none. Let's just win the game. If a different colored jersey helps the cause, I am all in.

Leave all these uniform changes for Oregon.
Once a year is enough, imo, unless it's green shirts with gold/mustard pants, and not some neon green that UA would come up with.
Oregon is a different DNA than Notre Dame. The different uniform each week works in Eugene, Oregon. Suits their clientele.

Personally, i wish Notre Dame Football would never vary from their base uniform except for the Shamrock series.

I would hope that the team could come out in their practice uniforms with max intensity. This is the playoffs, do they really need new uniforms to “get up” for the game?

Why do so many of you get upset at things just for the sake of being upset. God.

Who freaking cares what color the uniforms are, it's for young people to see something new and flashy. Just win the freaking game.

I am not upset whatsoever.

If I had my preference, black uniform tops would not be worn. Traditional would.

That said, everything is about $$$$$$$$$$$$, and if UA wants to sell merchandise to cash in, so be it.

It’s just idle conversation. There are probably very few people who are legitimately upset about the uniforms. I for one am excited mostly out of curiosity.

Do you have absolutely no preference whatsoever?

When you were a kid didn't you like to find something new, bright and shiny under the Christmas tree? I played competitive sports for many years, and getting new uniforms always seemed to bring a little extra energy. Yeah, maybe it shouldn't matter for a playoff game, but does it cause any harm?

Yes when I was a little kid I liked a shiny gift under the tree. I just believe the idea that new uniforms would make division 1 athletes play harder is nothing more than hearsay.

I’m certainly not going to throw a fit if they wear something like black uniforms. But to me the decision by under armor is a money grab to sell new apparel and has nothing to do with actually affecting the game.

I guess if the players are clamoring for an alt uni for the game, i can live with it. But in all honesty, I'm so tired of this "gimmick" for a game. Some of ND's alt uni's are pretty horrific IMO.

Personally, I'd like to see them go back to the real gold helmets and pants with the ND logo's on the sleeves.

I like blue, gold, green, and white variations of the uniform. I'm not a fan of a black uniform as it's just no ND. Seems like a distracting enough money grab.

The traditional blue and gold would have been appropriate.

I hope the gold pants are closer to the gold if the Holtz era rather than the ugly mustard gold we have been wearing.

I actually often think about the gold during the Holtz era. I agree, totally superior to the mustard yellow. Hence the return to glory...heralded by true GOLD!!!

:D

I think the mustard pants have run their course and it's time to go back to gold.

If we're going to try for the white on white stormtrooper look, then it should have been the game before Labor Day.
