Solid addition. Not the fastest kid, but a really nice press man corner, or cover 2 corner. I think ND is going to play a lot more Cover 2, so they need physical kids that can tackle in that scheme. Hicks gives you that. Nice group with Adebo and Graham (if ND can get him)... Would be much more excited about the addition of Hicks if it didn't come on the same day as the decommitment of who I believe was the best defensive player in the class.
Bitter sweet, but sweet nonetheless. Hard to recruit defense when you don't know who your D.C. Will be, and questions swirling around the HC job security. Makes this commitment that much more of note.
The anchor of our 2012 defense Louis Nix committed to the Irish when there was no head coach at ND. Recruiting during down times is still important and kids still want to make their Mama's proud by going to Notre Dame. We can still compete on a big stage.
Logistics likely = academics. I.E. Kid will keep his options open, likes ND but needs to get his ducks all lined up....
I don't have any insider memberships anymore but what seems to be going on with jeter from what I see on Twitter is the he didn't want to take other visits as a commit. Not saying he's a lock to come back, but maybe not as dire as a normal decommit?
