All eyes will be on four-star weakside defensive end Boubacar Traore today as he makes his first visit to Notre Dame.
The West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial product was verbally committed to Boston College for 19 months before dropping that commitment in March. Notre Dame was one of the schools Traore acknowledged had continued to recruit him despite his previous decision.
Now that he's visiting after the hoopla of the Blue-Gold Game recruiting weekend has died down, Traore will get plenty of attention from the Irish staff.
Traore doesn't do a lot of interviews, so it's hard to get a great read on him. But I believe that if all goes well on this visit for both sides, Traore could end up in Notre Dame's class in short order. We'll keep an eye on that this week.
Obviously Notre Dame already has a vyper end commit in Keon Keeley and a big end commit in Brenan Vernon. Traore has some position versatility, so I wouldn't necessarily pin him down to end or tackle. That versatility aligns wirh what Al Washington and Al Golden have embraced in their first few months at Notre Dame.
Sidenote: The more I see Vernon, the more I wonder if he ends up as a DT because he's a massive dude.
Traore's film reminds me bit of Justin Ademilola. I'd like to get a better sense of his current height/weight.
We also like where Notre Dame stands with four-star DT Devan Houstan, and four-star DT Jason Moore is someone Notre Dame wants to get on campus again in the coming months. If those three all want in, I think Notre Dame would take all of them.
