I never thought he would. In fact my comment last week was “well now that he’s played well you’re going to lose him as a backup next year because the guy they bring in from the portal will be better and he will transfer.” Oh and Buchner will probably too. Although with the injury ND might keep him for a year as a backup.

Yeah, well, he's starting at ND. Even though he wouldn't even start for a few select HS teams, he 'effin starts for ND, and he's going to be the starter the whole season. A season in which I'm going to presume he will at least get us to bowl eligibility.

This is classic, though. I will take some morbid satisfaction watching ND fans eat themselves, or however the saying goes. Tyler Buchner sucks.... Drew Pyne sucks.... Steve Angeli sucks too, or I assume he does. BK sucks of course, but he doesn't even coach here anymore. Tommy Rees of course sucks. I guess maybe at this point MF sucks as well. Who doesn't suck, that's even affiliated with ND football? And to think, this was a playoff team a year ago with BK and Jack Coan.

Why the **** are we running 7 yard routes on 4th and 8?

I've said this before and saying it now.

Our WR/QB combo is utterly piss poor. It's atrocious. Has been for a decade plus.

We get a decent one here and there but really now....
If you were a 5 star receiver why the hell would you want to come here? Showcase your talent maybe when you're a junior on 3 yard curl and sit routes and getting passes thrown late, too far, etc.

Merriweather get a couple of crumbs of reps tonight.

The offense is a joke. An absolute joke.
The depth chart is shit..
The plays even worse...

I respect him but it’s hard to imagine us winning more than 8 games next season if he’s still quarterback. He’s smart and somewhat accurate but he’s just so limited. He’s short, average speed, below average arm strength. I think he’ll honestly have another few good moments this season and hopefully lead us to a couple more wins but I hope he’s not our qb next season.

And to think, the best QB in the college game today is probably even less physically gifted than Drew Pyne. Every bit as small and short and scrawny, and just absolutely looks like he does not belong on a CFB field and probably should be a tennis player. And yet Bryce Young is the real deal, and I guess will be a top draft pick. Maybe like Ian Book he has huge hands so his passes never flutter....
