"Kyle Brey
Quality Control
Kyle Brey is in his first season as a quality control coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He will work closely with offensive coordinator Ed Warinner.
Brey arrived in Columbus in February after working for the past three seasons for coach Bo Pelini at Nebraska and also Youngstown State University. He was an offensive graduate assistant working with the tight ends for the 2013 and 2014 seasons at Nebraska -- the Cornhuskers played in the Holiday and Gator bowls, respectively, those two seasons -- and he was the tight ends coach for Pelini at Youngstown State this past season.
Brey started his coaching career at the University of Kansas, working as a quality control coach for Turner Gill in 2011 and as a graduate assistant for Charlie Weiss in 2012.
A four-year letterman as a tight end and fullback for the University of Buffalo, Brey played for Gill for three seasons and helped UB win the 2008 Mid-American Conference championship and advance to the 2009 International Bowl against UConn.
Brey comes from a coaching family: his father is currently in his 16th year as the men's basketball coach at Notre Dame; his mother, Tish, coached volleyball at the University of Delaware; his Grandfather was a high school athletic director and his Grandmother was an Olympic and Pan American Games swimmer who later coached the sport at George Washington University.
Brey grew up in Granger, Ind., and played football, basketball and competed in track and field at Penn High School. He is married to the former Shea Fluegge, from Granger, Ind. The couple has a young daughter, Olivia."
