"And it doesn't hurt that Saban's success in championship games has a way of empowering his players. After all, he owns championship game or playoff wins over the likes of Mack Brown, Bob Stoops, Mark Dantonio, Les Miles, Phillip Fulmer, Dabo Swinney, Chris Petersen and Meyer.

"We know we've got one of the greatest coaches to ever coach on our sideline," Alabama senior linebacker Reuben Foster said. "He knows what buttons to push, and he knows when to push them."

Not surprised that an espn writer would choose to leave ND off the list. However, it is interesting, as to how intentional/unintentional it was?

From an article about Alabama's success in championship games, NC, SEC, playoff.

Does CBK belong in that group? Is it addition by subtraction? Yes.....probably not anti ND anything.

You contributors whine and carry on worse than the political liberals in this country. The battle's over for this year, but you still post this drivel like it's going to make a difference. Kelly's here through 2017 and maybe 2018 no matter how much you pout and complain. Who cares what ESPN writes or doesn't write about ND. They don't like the fact we haven't joined their little club, so they have decided to ignore us. So What?

"Ignor us." ESPN is ignoring ND out of spite????? Are you kidding me. ND is a horrible football team. They finished the season 4-8. It would be a travesty if they paid any attention to ND at all.

Neither do I - Kelly is a non-factor in 'real' big-boy football.

In 7 years at ND he has never won a major bowl game and arguably has 1 significant victory (even at that, a season in which OU lost 3 games).

Whined and carried on? Pout, complain? How so...? I said i thought it was interesting they left Kelly off a list of coaches. Whether the author chose to or not was my query. Far from going after Kelly!

oh? you can't go after Kelly? why? Kelly goes after his players! his cosches! the media! and anyone else he needs to to survive! yikes!

I don't find it anti-ND, Brian Kelly simply does not have good success in bowl games all the others do

We are a basketball school now. Why worry about this?

I hope you are wrong.

The financial success of the FB program is what allows the other sports - THE SPORTS which are, much of the time, money losers - to 'participate'.

^ this administration and the current leadership and approach to the football program has moved ND to the "B" list as far as competition is concerned. All one has to do is look at the competition and how recruiting has changed. There is nothing about ND that resonates with recruits on a first hand basis. And Kelly has lost any credibility with college propects, families and media. This downturn might be the worst in ND history.
