What do you fellas think? Is there's a chance that maybe Elijah still flips to the Irish at some point this season? I read somewhere (which it could be completely false) that Elijah was still planning on setting up a visit with the Irish this season. I mean personally I wouldnt mind to see us land a quality RB in this class......or maybe I should say "another" quality RB because I have no clue how Tony Jones is going to turn out. I don't know much about him...just seen a few HS clips.

Holyfield was in ND's corner since they first visited. Even with Evander saying that's where he wanted Elijah to go ND didn't crack the kid's top 8 list. Hard to pull big time backs out of Georgia, especially ones that have signed on to play at Georgia.

Yea i read where ND didn't break into his top 5. Just wondering if maybe he takes an official visit then see how the season starts to shake down.....maybe ND has a great year and a few other teams that were ahead starts to struggle ....and by ahead I mean teams other than Georgia that were close to the top since he obviously already committed. Maybe a chance to sway him a little bit. I realize it's a pipe dream but just crossed my mind.

I believe ND takes another back but I do not believe it is him. Don't see him having any interest in ND outside of his dad.

I haven't really heard.....is there any high profile RB's that ND is in the running for minus Stovall who is an APB?

Elijah is a kid. He thinks he knows best. Evader is a grownup. Father knows best

Maybe Dad should learn from Mike Tyson and chew his son's ear off about ND

Alloway and Stovall are in on the same spot. Some other back may appear but those are the best options right now.

Alloway and Stovall are both slot candidates. One of the reasons Stovall abcked off SC was he wanted slot and SC wanted RB. The kid isn't built to be a 15-20 carry a game guy. He is 5'8" (generous) and 180 tops.

They are going to be slot/apb guys emphasis on the slot if ND can pick someone up at back.

I'd like to see ND land one of the Eddie Lacey type backs......6'2 - 6'3 and about 240 lbs worth of ground pounding talent. Run by you or run over you. Maybe another Bettis prototype for the Irish

Jones is the big back this cycle.

Also Gipp, I agree I prefer stovall/Alloway (don't believe they take both) play slot sliding in behind CJ but I think Stovall should get bigger... he was already at 180 this summer.

Yea i saw that Tony has the size to be like that...but does he have the sort of ability to go along with it that I'm wishfully hoping for?

Georgia has an incredible recruiting class this year, and it's only going to get better. If they could have Easen this year with this roster they'd be scary good.

Senior running back recruit Elijah Holyfield recently gave Georgia his verbal commitment.

His father, boxing legend Evander Holyfield, told USA Today that he was pushing his son to go to Notre Dame.

"If you go to college you go to get an education," Holyfield told USA Today. "That’s why I tried to get him to go to Notre Dame.”

The younger Holyfield, a four-star prospect, held an offer from Notre Dame and visited South Bend in March with his father. The Irish added a commitment from running back Tony Jones Jr. shortly after the visit and Elijah Holyfield started to focus on other schools.

Notre Dame's 40-year decision recruiting pitch must have really struck a chord with Evander Holyfield.

“What are you going to do from 25-75? Education is the key," he told USA Today. "Life is more than football, just like life is more than boxing. I can’t say that Georgia can’t give him a good education, but only that at Notre Dame you’d be getting a $250,000 a year education instead of a $50,000 education.”

Elijah Holyfield, a 5-10, 204-pound back, chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and Tennessee. Rivals ranks Holyfield as the No. 3 running back in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him eighth at the position.

He's got talent and is a good receiver out of the backfield. Showed out well in the opening and plays at a good school in Florida against tough competition. Don't think Jones has Lacey type talent though.

From the videos I watched of him he didn't really impress me all that much. In comparison to what IMG usually has in the backfield, he looked like backup material. Not saying he can't develop and be an amazing RB.....but from what I've seen so far I'm not sold on him.

Would we really want a guy to go to ND just because his dad wants him too? ND is not for everybody and if Holyfield quickly eliminated ND early in the recruiting process, then I say move on.

Eddie Lacy according to his Rivals profile was a 4 star 5'11 and 210 lbs. I.E. He has grown and so will some of our recruits!

If you aren't sold on Jones I don't think anything we are going to say is going to sell you on him. He is a good hack but not an elite recruit at the position. Good backs have success at the college level though.

I got crossed up. It's Derrick Henry I was thinking of when I was thinking of "6'3" dimensions....not Eddie Lacey. And with me saying that Evander wanted him to go to ND....i wasnt saying he needs to follow his Dad. I wouldn't want him to commit to ND unless it was right for Eljah. All I was saying is i wonder if there would be a chance as the season plays out if he actually grows fond of the Irish and maybe takes an official visit that could bring new light.

And as for Tony Jones.....I hope I look back on this thread and see how wrong I really was. I'll gladly eat crow if he transforms into a feature back type talent. Obviously the coaches saw something or they wouldn't have offered him a scholarship.....so that's good enough for me. I guess looking back on it, just wishing for 5 stars doesn't always pan out. Our last 5 star RB never even got to start.
