He revealed this list a little while ago on Weekday Sportsbeat. This is based on what he has seen in practices and from talking to the coaches:

  1. Drue Tranquill
  2. Shaun Crawford
  3. Cole Luke
  4. Devin Studstill
  5. Max Redfield
He said Max has been banged up most of this spring and could move up the list later but this is how he sees things so far.

Thoughts?

Encouraging!

Tranquill has spaghetti knees now - you have to worry about a kid that gets hurt jumping in the air and he is the no. 1?

When a player can play both safety and rush the QB effectively in their nickle package, then yes he can be your #1 defensive back. They were talking last night on Sportsbeat about Crawford playing corner back because he's so good in coverage. The linebackers will have a full day Saturday.
What do you mean regarding the linebackers? Please

We have four healthy scholarship linebackers right now available for the game. I didn't take into account the four walk-on linebackers on the roster, so each side will probably have two scholarship linebackers and two walk-ons for the game. I'm glad Coach decided to go regular format this year instead of offense verses defense. It should give us plenty to think and talk about over the summer.
Thanks. Agree.

looking at him in the B&G
not sure-if he is all taped up and padded or if my ipad makes him look thick, but he looks a bit heavy and out of shape slow.

Pass coverage may be a weakness for him till he rounds into shape.

DB's looked more athletic today. Max had good plays....then a big missed tackle. Drue not the best in coverage. Plenty of opportunity to GET BETTER!
