I'm glad there are guys excelling, the guys Kelly and staff are recruiting are building on their potential.
But I also note that 3 out of 8 come from Texas/Western Louisiana and 5 out of 8 come from the South. I don't think that is a coincidence given the level of competition, the culture of football, and the coaching.
With Coach Cooks gone, who is recruiting Texas and Louisiana? I know these are always tough pulls, with lots of competition. But want to see at least 2 coaches (+Kelly) hitting this region regularly.
I know ND recruits nationally and we recruit only certain types. If we are not getting more Texas kids, or Louisiana kids on a regular basis (I know its tough), plus a couple more from Florida, ACC country every year, it will be extremely difficult to compete for a Top 4 slot regularly.
