I graduated ND in the middle of the Era of Ara. It was glorious as we railroaded almost everyone we played... USC was typically our roadblock at times but we won our fair share. We were in the National championship hunt almost every season.... we would go to the game on Saturday afternoon and then wake up Sunday morning and watch the replay on TV with Lindsey Nelson and Paul Horning (May he Rest In Peace) .... it was a GREAT time to be a Notre Dame fan...
regardless of who we played the next week, we had the belief we would win...
TODAY is a GREAT time to be a Notre Dame fan once again...
Last week‘s victory over Clemson and the win over BC yesterday in the midst of a potential emotional letdown has rekindled the media and the football world’s respect for the program.
We are 41-6 in our last 47 games and 31-3 in our last 34 games.... ranked #2 and a realistic path to our 2nd playoff appearance in 3 seasons. We have had 2 undefeated regular seasons in recent history, a BCS Championship game appearance and a playoff appearance.
ND is regarded with respect by the media again... wouldn’t it be incredible to win a National Championship? It is not a pipe dream... we do have a chance.
I have been critical at times in the past of Kelly and was onboard to let him go after the 2016 fiasco.. but a lesson to us all is right in front of us. Kelly was forced to get outside his comfort zone and hire two outsiders as OC and DC. it has changed the course of history.
this is fun... let’s enjoy it.
