Duke

Or a coming out party.

Losing due to egregious coaching errors is inexcusable !

If we play like we did last night we should beat them by 2 scores. I just worry about the players losing focus
To get yourself and play at that high level after a crushing defeat is very hard to do.

They just have to find a way to win a game on the road against a top 20 team

If it's by 1 or 21

Just win

Dude, they are all big games. All 12. Beat Duke and Louisville and lose at home to USC, the narrative won't change.

Our players will be physically sore. Elko's steroid driven team will have an advantage.

Beating Duke and Louisville isn’t going to move the needle unless ND beats Southern Cal. As stated, some games are bigger than others and ND continues to fail when it’s time to make a play. Freeman learning on the job is sad for a university that should be able to land someone that has proven success. ND gets three games a year to show their mettle as an independent. They just failed the first test. Does an experienced coach have 10 players on the field TWICE at the end when a stop is needed? If they lose to Duke, this could snowball badly.

Duke has been really good this year, but I don’t see a path for victory for them unless we make several mistakes, i.e., turnovers. I see ND winning by at least 10, maybe 20+.
I’m expecting MF to have learned his lesson from Marshall game last year. Duke is obviously much tougher but I think leadership is better this year

Yet Dabo made mistakes against FSU. 12. years in. What’s your coaching resume?

Don’t start comparing someone with two nattys to a guy who doesn’t know there are 10 people on the field TWICE when the game is on the line. When MF builds up enough goodwill with quality wins against top 10 teams, there will be less criticism. He wasn’t left a dry cupboard like Dabo at the start of his career and MF should have learned from last year’s failures (and I don’t like Dabo for the record).

Not there yet but wonder how many fans start to cheer for losses. That last stand on D has me thinking of this guys mental aptitude.
It's Al Golden I wonder about more in that particular situation. And the DL coach.

But everything starts at the top.

Look at the big picture not the small. The team played well and looks good. Jean Baptiste was a great addition. Freeman is still learning but there is much improvement so far this year. USC is top 5 and Clemson a wounded Tiger. We need a smaller guy with blazing speed to rush the passer. That is what is really missing and will determine the outcomes if all else stays the same. Our offense is really good when we play smash mouth. Don't forget our solid FG kicker missed a chip shot.
