Every time I see him staring down Mayer (which is basically every pass attempt) I throw my remote. I think at the least a D-1 college football QB should be able to scan the field and go through progressions. I get Mayer is usually a sure thing, but it's such juvenile football. Lack of QB depth and development has killed us. That is a problem that Kelly left us that Rees continues.
He's the biggest problem going forward. He doesn't have to be great just competent. He was neither today. Missed simple, basic high school level throws.
Tommy Rees told Freeman ND had the QBs needed to win a title. Watching Pitt at 4-2. Thinking Slovis would have come for sure. And ND would be 6-1 right now.

While I agree that QB is a major problem and kind of hard to believe that ND does not have a competent QB, but you can’t be serious about Kedon Slovis. I’m also a Pitt fan and he is not the answer … Pitt offense is even more inept and one dimensional than ND … completely shutdown by Georgia Tech and Louisville.
why did Kelly have to destroy Jurkovec … the kid was a lifelong ND fan living his dream until he met Brian Kelly. He was the answer after Ian Book.
