I would like to throw my hat in the ring for volunteer moderator of this board. I don't need a salary, recognition, anything really. This is coming from a true and sincere place in my heart that desires for this board to be rid of ridiculous and hackneyed posters that have been a plague here for quite some time.
I whole heartedly pledge my service to the site, but what can I offer? It's very simple. The cancerous posters on this site are predictable, and I can root them out at every turn. They are simple. They are not, nor will they ever be, fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Nor are they fans of other universities and colleges that come over here to discuss, banter, and debate true topics. I offer to eliminate those posters, their threads and comments that turn this board into a degenerate wasteland that us true fans have to sift through to find legitimate discussion. These degenerates use the same verbiage and sentence structure despite their multiple usernames. Their responses are scriptable and easily spotted by every member of this site. They troll and flame for the sole purpose of getting a reaction. They are shockingly intelligent because they get what they want every single time...which is where I come in. I can stop it.
I've been reading this board since the Ty Willingham days. I enjoyed nearly a decade of good discussion as I grew up, advanced my career, established a family, and raised children to love ND football. Then I threw my hat in the ring to enter into the discussion. Unfortunately, I arrived too late. And this was prior to the switch in companies this past year. As a poster, I have only a little to add to discussions: played through HS and college but at a DIII school, coached and taught in the toughest D1 public school division in Ohio for 8 years before moving to school administration, I coached against some ND recruits and signees over the years, but do not have the experience of some of the other posters in regards to evaluating recruiting talent, and I do not have the background to critique and correct the schemes used in DI college athletics because I haven't ever had to digest playbooks that advanced. (and yes, I was an English teacher and recognize that this is a ridiculous run on sentence)
In conclusion, because of the afformentioned reasons, I would happily forfeit my right to comment on all ND football discussion to become a volunteer moderator. I am able to check the discussion board intermittently throughout the weekdays and religiously on the weekends. My username will not be brought into any discussions except those pertaining to upholding this board's integrity, and my responses will be solely following the company line.
If you are interested in the aid to which I've offered, please check my contact information through my registration to find my email and let me know one way or the other what I must do.
For our lady Notre Dame, and the game we love so much...
