Walled Lake (Mich.) Lake Central defensive end Adetokunbo Ogundeji will be in South Bend on Saturday for an unofficial visit with his family. The 16-year-old was offered by the Irish on Thursday, and will meet with Irish defensive line coach Keith Gilmore during the visit.

Here's what you need to know...

- Ogundeji is raw. Simple as that. But more schools are starting to find out about him, and Notre Dame is trying to get ahead of the curve. We have been told that the Irish like his skill set, but know he needs some work in the weight room. Still, the staff loves his potential, length, and frame at 6-5, 230 pounds.

- Why get him on campus now? Well couple of reasons. Notre Dame didn't think that they were going to get Khalid Kareem earlier this week when he committed to Alabama, but now the defensive end board has shrunk even more, and there's no denying that. Rivals250 end Xavier Kelly will trim his list of 30 schools to 8 on Monday. Notre Dame is expected to make that cut, but Kelly doesn't plan to announce his decision until the U.S. Army Game, which isn't ideal for Notre Dame knowing the needs at the position. The Irish will continue to recruit Rivals250 end Auston Robertson, as well, but at the end of the day, he's committed to Michigan State. The Irish think that Ogundeji has the potential to see his stock take off – and it has with offers recent from Oregon, Rutgers, Cal and Pitt. They don't want to wait to long to get involved with Ogundeji, then miss out.

- There's a lot of people in Ogundeji's corner pushing Notre Dame. Walled Lake Central has a coach that played for Brian Kelly at Grand Valley State and then was later a graduate assistant under the now Notre Dame head coach.
