Football Dates announced for Notre Dame-Michigan State home-and-home for 2026, 2027 seasons

Notre Dame and Michigan State announced Thursday the dates for its home-and-home series between the two football programs in 2026 and 2027.

Notre Dame will host Michigan State on Sept. 19, 2026. The Spartans will host the Irish on Sept. 18, 2027.

The two rivals play for the Megaphone Trophy, but they haven't met on the football field since 2017 when Notre Dame won at Michigan State by a 38-18 margin. Notre Dame holds a 49-29-1 series advantage.

Michigan State enters the 2024 season with a new head coach in Jonathan Smith, who spent the previous six seasons at Oregon State. The Spartans logged losing records the last two seasons: 5-7 in 2022 and 4-8 in 2023.
