anyone see this kids hudl tape? As big of a need as DE is and as much depth there is at TE I would not be surprised at all if he is converted to de. A+ size at 6'5 240-250, great technique and motor on tape. Making the prediction now he becomes a starting defensive end within a few years

He is staying at TE. I hope the new OC utilizes tremendous strength for the offense wit multiple TE sets . Smythe , Jones Weisher, Wright , Kmet, Latua all have a variety of strengths that can be utilized . I envision a 3-TE set with Jones , Smythe and Weisher in run downs .... never saw this at all .Great depth

With Smyth and Jones both easily being among our Top 6-7 offensive skill position players, and both potentially being in the Top 5 (depending on how they progress this off season, health, etc.)...I don't see any way we're not utilitizing a lot of 2 TE sets.

With a new QB and a strength at TE, OL, and RB...it's just too natural

The only thing that I could see stopping the 2 TE set from becoming our "Base Offense" this year is if 2 WRs REALLY step up big time during the off-season (perhaps Sanders and Stepherson, though Claypool, Boykin, McKinley, and Finke will all have a chance)

We better use and use often 2 tight ends or I will seriously doubt this coaching staffs intelligencf (once again). But yea just my prediction he gets flipped to d, he should be a beast either way because he's got some serious hands

neither Fr. TE's will play sig roles in '17. And Kmet will not be the prim TE in passing downs. Only Jones and Wright are outstanding recievers

I think Brock Wright plays early and often. He is very physical and a "complete" TE in blocking and catching. Think that alone will have him passing Luatua and possibly Wisher early.

Kmet is a better receiver than Wright and it isn't close.

Wright is the better blocker and the guy who will lineup in line, Kmet is the player that will be split out into the slot (like Aliz'e).

Curious, given their film, everything reported from the Under Armor and Army Games and the general knowledge possessed by anyone who follows these two, why you think Wright is the better receiving threat than Kmet?...

For the record, both are elite TE prospects, they're just different. I have both ranked in the top 4 among TE's in the the nation and both were lauded as the best TE at their respective All Star game.

Thanks Coach Herman! Pee wee Herman that is.

Unless Wright is in the game to block, Perse isn't wrong here. Durham Smythe, Aliz'e Jones, and Nik Weishar will likely get the Lion's share of reps next year. All three could be gone next year, however.

He's pretty wrong on "only Jones and Wright" being premier pass-catching talents at TE
Both Weishar and Kmet clearly fall into that category

Though I agree, neither TE with play a big role in 2017, with Smythe being a physically developed "Balanced TE", Jones being an elite talent "Spread TE", and Luatua being a capable (and older) H-Back type of player

We have 18 DLmen now. Time to focus on developing them

I have read that one of the reasons BK wanted an OC who looked at the offensive game through his eyes was so he could spend more time with the defense. I want him to work on the DL with Elston. He doesn't have to micro manage Long, Hiestand, Denson and Alexander. Just oversee and delegate.

DL is where we need to start seeing a payoff for our 18 roster spots. It has not been impressive so far and we have a lot of solid 4 star guys there like DHayes, Okwara Trumbetti, Tillery, Cage, MDT, JHayes, Kareem and Ewell. Taylor and Bonner should be ready to produce. We need an 8 man rotation from those guys to keep fresh and attacking the OL for 80-90 plays a game since I am assuming we go tempo.

Kmet will be needed I believe in 2018. Is he this years Chase Claypool with people wondering which side of the line he should play on.

Kmet is not going to defense. He is a star pitcher who throws in the 90's and will play BB like the Shark. He is not risking his knees to chop blocks on defense.

Probably won't, just my bold prediction. Really liked him on tape on both sides of the ball

With the productivity at TE last year, I could see both of the new guys having big roles.
