ND can definitely beat the first 5 teams ahead of them.
Not sure if ND can beat anyone in the top 5 right now. ND is getting better each week. BW will continue to grow and develop.
Teams 6-20 are not better than ND.

I think the fact we weren't ranked in the preseason is still holding us back a bit. But we'll keep moving up if we keep winning.
ND played GA to one point and GA looks as good as anyone. ND has blown out everybody else, if ND were to win out they would make the playoff no doubt, with wins over SC, @ Miami and @trees, big if's. ND is probably a top 15 team right now.
ND is not sure to beat the 5 teams immediately in front of them. Who was the highest ranking team that ND has beaten so far in ‘17 ?
So wait FSU wins their first game and they drop out of the top 25? LOL, I think the coaches poll is pathetic anyway. They should call it the coaches admin assistants poll.
I agree. FSU should've been dropped last week at 0-2. Dropping them out after being #25 and beating and undefeated team is just as ridiculous.
After 5 games I'm not sure this is a real good Irish team. The 4 wins were against really bad teams. Losing at home to Georgia is no crime. However, when you factor in they were using a true Freshman QB and committed key penaltys to keep thr Irish in it, you have to wonder if at 4 and 1, this is fools gold. They still have issues passing and the defense is improved, but it still has issues. Let's say against SC or The U they fall behind by 2 TDs. Are they good enough to come back from that deficit and win? Maybe they are, I don't know. But most likely at some point that will happen. That's when you see what kind of team they have. For me, the jury is still out. I'm hoping they can win out. First things first as the saying goes. NC is the next obstacle. That's all that matters.
ND has been more impressive than Penn State in my opinion. Lucky to beat an average Iowa team.
Good point echo. I'm not trying to compare ND to any other team. All I m saying is that ND lost to the only good team they played. They are clearly better than last year. I'm just not sure how good they are. I will say that at least they aren't struggling against teams they should be soundly, which they have. If Winbush can be more effective passing, I like their chances of winning out. I guess we just have to see how it goes.
