Coach I finally finished the podcast and I agree with you on the 12 credits. Couple of issues though. First the athletes are not required to take 15 hours in the fall. They now take 2 classes every summer including the one prior to their freshman year starting. Problem with taking 12 during the fall is if you fail a class and have to drop it than you only have 9 which is technically seen as a non-full time student by NCAA standards. Honestly I have spoken on this board countless times about ND being very manageable from my own experiences both as a legally blind person graduating in four years and living with football players and seeing the lifestyle they have. Honestly outside of creating fluff classes these kids are stuck with what they have. I don’t have a good answer as to why Stnaford, Vandy, Duke and Northwestern don't have these same issues, but I think ND is ultimately going to have to live with what they have. Also as mentioned before this problem of kids not being to get into school without football is not a ND thing it is a college football thing. at every school the majority of kids on that team would not have gotten into school without football. Many of these prominent state schools are extremely difficult to get into.
