I frequently read about a WR's proficiency - or lack thereof - at running routes.
Some very athletically skilled guys, fast with good hands, are said to be poor route runners. Others not as skilled are described as great right route runners.
Question: What goes into being a great route runner? To me it seems simple: If you're supposed to go 10 yards then cut at a 90 degree angle in or out, that's what you do. Not rocket science, and so I don't understand how someone can't be good at running routes. So obviously there has to be more to it.
Please explain. Thanks
