Just read the article on Brock Wright and noted that part of the analysis included the dreaded "stiff hips" assessment. Although I'm not 100% sure what that means, I think it refers to overall fluidity of a guy's running style. For example, if I've got that right George Atkinson is Exhibit A for stiff hips. By comparison Bryant and Folston are much more fluid. Payton was fluid. Adrian Peterson is fluid. Gayle Sayers was Exhibit A for a fluid style.
Anyway, question is this: Can "stiff hips" be worked on and improved? Sort of seems like one of those things that you either have or don't have. I can't imagine GA III ever becoming a Peterson or Sayers type runner, despite probably being faster in a straight line race.
Your comments?
Thanks
