In a recent post I asked you and Lou if you think the academic rigors are a possible if not primary reason for what I called inexplicable/inexcusable losses. Lou stated that even Holtz had some clunkers and Holtz himself admitted it is extremely difficult to maintain focus.
You intimated that it is multifactorial, obviously, but didn't want to "start a fight" so to speak regarding the causes/nuances. Maybe I'm naive to the board inflammatory topics/issues, but I would like to know your thoughts. You are something of an expert regarding coaching/football strategy; I will admit I cannot diagnose/breakdown/scrutinize football plays and strategy. It would be nice if you could elaborate at the risk of pissing some of these posters off. Do you see trends in coaching inadequacies or something of that nature? I'm not baiting you here just taking a stab and I really would like some perspective. To a casual observer, one who cannot scrutinize football strategy, these losses are "inexplicable." You intimate that there is more to it. If you don't want to get into it from a professional standpoint, I understand. But would be fascinated to hear these intricacies that go unnoticed by the uneducated.
