Clemson has been perhaps a top 15ish type team all year even though it has top 5 talent.
DJ has regressed so much that it’s hard to believe. 8/29 yards, 99 yards and an interception In any college game in todays game is horrifically bad.

Yes because none of these teams are as good as ranked and hurts us in computer models as far as a NY6 game is concerned.
But then again, who really is as good as ranked in an increasing world of parity. What o still do like is how we thoroughly physically beat a good team with an NFL QB and great offense (UNC), a decent team in Syracuse that was playing well, and a super talented team in Clemson that never gelled and whose QB regressed.
It is very difficult to do what we did to these three teams.
The ACC was way down this year. An 8-3 ND team that lost to Marshall and Syracuse. Absolutely bludgeoned BOTH teams meeting in the ACC Championship Game next week.
BYU, Cuse, UNC, were slightly above average teams this year
Clemson and OSU were excellent teams, but not even close to the teams that made the CFP in recent years.

When have they had an up year? horrible conferenc. Was it last year they were 0-8 in bowl games?

USC has atop 6 offense and a Top 75-100 defense.

No, that doesn’t mean they are going to be the most deserving of a spot although that seems very subjective and some thing that the committee will have to pass out, but overall these are the best teams.

Even if LSU somehow manages to beat Georgia, overall Georgia would still be the better team and right now would be favored against every team in the nation on a neutral field. Of course, if LSU does wind up beating Georgia, it would be hard to keep them out of the playoffs because they have a win against two of the four best teams and one of them in a neutral location.
He probably has a top three offense with a case for the best offense and definitely a 75–90th type defense that has difficulty stopping the run.
Former 5* QB recruit DJ Uiagalelei was 8 of 29 with 1 TD and 1 interception. Man, that is just bad. I didn't watch a whole lot of the game, but most of the completions that I saw were passes completed behind the LOS. Maybe we shouldn't be so hard on Drew Pyne here. I don't know what happened to Uiagalelei. Either he's not being coached up, or he simply isn't as good as advertised. Or maybe a little bit of both.
He has all the physical tools but has lost all confidence. It’s easy for us to sometimes just forget that if you have the physical qualities and go to the right school that has had success with their previous few quarterbacks that it will just continue. I’m guilty of this. Playing that position is just so difficult.
It would hurt us if we had one loss and wanted to get in the playoff. Otherwise who cares?
So much of many posters' opinions about DJ are based on the career day he had against us in the 2020 loss. And I know the game has evolved, but for a debuting QB, DJ must have had the all time best personal stats for a debuting QB that still resulted in their loss.
