It’s 7:05am I just got to work I’m exhausted but man does it feel good! A few things that stuck out to me.
This team has a heart of a champion. Kelly said in the pregame he wanted players to make plays and so many guys across the board made plays. Book, Williams, Simon, Hayes, McKinley, Davis and the list goes on. A true team victory.
One of the things that impressed me the most was how this team dug down facing adversity. You gotta think they had a handful of people at the game but they never gave up after the Book fumble, after the PI flag was picked up, after the Ben drop with 2:06 to go, and with 91yds between them and a statement, they answered the bell. It was all them, no raucous packed house, they had to find a way to change momentum.
Speaking of Book, hats off to him. I’ve said before I didn’t think he could lead us to a championship but he’s just a flat out winner. He’s still going to have games that he struggles or gets happy feet in the pocket but I will give him his just due, he’s a baller. He’s not a 6’5” 5* but what he is, a winner. He played an absolutely fantastic game last night.
Kyren Williams played lights out. Finishes every run and showed the same things he’s been doing all year. His blitz pickups were crucial. No half hearted effort, he flat brings it at the point of contact. The kid is 100% the definition of physical.
Speaking of physical, you think Clemson knows they played a football game last night. 🤪
Jeff Quinn, I apologize for doubting you. The OL was flat $$$ like they’ve been all year.
Kelly I love the swag you’ve shown over the last couple weeks please continue to coach to win and not playing it safe. I said last week I thought they’d come out sharp, that they had a swag or air about them that was different and last night I saw a bare knuckle fist fight. This team knows theyre good. The stage isn’t to big anymore. I will say now, if this team gets beat it won’t be because we are unprepared and I haven’t felt that way since Holtz. We looked like we belonged last night and that hasn’t been the case in a long, long time.
I have plenty more that I won’t bore you with and I’m guessing my employer would probably like it if I actually got to work but I will leave you with this, HOW BOUT OUR IRISH!! Man doesn’t this feel good! ☘️🏈
