Is this sarcasm?New name for ND:
Notre No-Binary Du Lac University
SO gotta ask how do leprechauns get made?Irish folklore suggests there aren't any females.
An ancient book called "A History Of Irish Fairies" reveals that there are no evidence of there being a female leprechaun -- ever.
From what I have read on X the Lep will be a female at the football game this weekend. ND has had female Leps for a couple of years, but not at football games. Is this sarcasm?
Leprechaun are technically members of the shee. There is only one member of the shee who are explicitly designated as female and that is the Banshee. Other interpretations suggest are the offspring of fairies who were deemed "defective children...because of their shape and disposition,"From what I have read on X the Lep will be a female at the football game this weekend. Yes, I have been reading the same articles. Irish mythology is very interesting.Leprechaun are technically members of the shee. There is only one member of the shee who are explicitly designated as female and that is the Banshee. Other interpretations suggest are the offspring of fairies who were deemed "defective children...because of their shape and disposition,"
I can attest to that because when was younger and employed in Newark, at night we could look out the windows and see the ‘fairies’.Leprechaun are technically members of the shee. There is only one member of the shee who are explicitly designated as female and that is the Banshee. Leprechaun donkey....since a "leprechaun" is a mythical creature, it can be pretty much whatever anyone wants it to be.....
Is he/she a trans too? WTF? Absolute stupidityFrom what I have read on X the Lep will be a female at the football game this weekend. ND has had female Leps for a couple of years, but not at football games.
But not traditional if ND is going to explicitly thumb it's nose at the tradition.....since a "leprechaun" is a mythical creature, it can be pretty much whatever anyone wants it to be.....
....next thing you know they'll be letting women join the Irish Guard....no......wait.....what?...Did the world end and I just missed it?.....But not traditional if ND is going to explicitly thumb it's nose at the tradition.
Well my avatar on X is a female leprechaun lolFrom what I have read on X the Lep will be a female at the football game this weekend. ND has had female Leps for a couple of years, but not at football games.
They will be letting short fat clarinet players join the Irish 'Guard'....next thing you know they'll be letting women join the Irish Guard....no......wait.....what?...Did the world end and I just missed it?.....
No it can’t !....since a "leprechaun" is a mythical creature, it can be pretty much whatever anyone wants it to be.....
No but black, Jewish & gay. Got all the boxes checked. Is he/she a trans too? WTF? Absolute stupidity
Guessing the OP is adamantly against male cheerleaders too.No but black, Jewish & gay. Got all the boxes checked.
Nowhere in Webster does the definition of " leprechaun " refer to a specific gender. No it can’t !
Well, maybe it can if you’re woke !
So, Webster's Dictionary is the authority on Irish mythology?Nowhere in Webster does the definition of " leprechaun " refer to a specific gender.
Wouldn't be surprised that way back in the day cheering had more guys than girls at some schools.Guessing the OP is adamantly against male cheerleaders too.
🤯😖😬😨🥵😣😤😳Next thing you know, they'll be letting girls attend Notre Dame.
While most people believe that leprechauns are human mixed with fairy, it is widely unknown that they most resemble an earth reptile in the sense that they lay eggs and shed their skin every few years until they reach full maturity, as well as having retractable teeth used for killing.SO gotta ask how do leprechauns get made?
Or that cheerleaders at ND were exclusively male until the lovely Teri Buck came along.Wouldn't be surprised that way back in the day cheering had more guys than girls at some schools.
So what is the " authority " then ? Certainly no one here. So, Webster's Dictionary is the authority on Irish mythology?
The last I looked in a mirror I was female and I don't know if all traditions have to be changed for gender equity. An easy solution would be to have both female and male Leps at the games.
In this crazy, ever changing world I find comfort in tradition. Changes come and go. Some are definitely needed and some maybe not so important or even wrong. One great thing though is to be able to state your opinion even if it differs from others.
Go Irish! Beat Pitt!!
.....you know what "mythical" means...kinda like your NFL cheerleader girlfriend.....No it can’t !
Well, maybe it can if you’re woke !
Maybe folks that live in Ireland? So what is the " authority " then ? Certainly no one here.
Yes, I was pretty young, but I think I remember ND having an all-male squad. Did Michigan have an all-male squad too? Have a vague memory of asking my Pop's about that.Or that cheerleaders at ND were exclusively male until the lovely Teri Buck came along.
You people are getting exercised over someone "playing" a leprechaun? What would you have done if you lived during Shakespeare's time when all the female roles were played by men or boys?
I vote for a male tinker bell in the next Peter Pan movie! So, Webster's Dictionary is the authority on Irish mythology?

Kinda went over this earlier, citing various works on Irish Mythology. But then again if Hamilton can be black I guess a leprechaun can be female. So what is the " authority " then ? Certainly no one here.
Easily offended much? Especially by the gender of mythical creatures? Is he/she a trans too? WTF? Absolute stupidity
I guess if you’re dumb enough to ignore historical context and 58 years of tradition you’d post that response.Nowhere in Webster does the definition of " leprechaun " refer to a specific gender.
That certainly changed the culture at ND, didn’t it.Next thing you know, they'll be letting girls attend Notre Dame.
👍But not traditional if ND is going to explicitly thumb it's nose at the tradition.
Common sense ?Or that cheerleaders at ND were exclusively male until the lovely Teri Buck came along.
