CFB Playoff Slate 2024 and 2025

The only thing they got wrong was trying to keep the bowl system in tact for the quarterfinals. Its gonna be a hard ask to have 2 fan bases travel to 3 different locations in the span of 3 weeks. I think it would have been more appealing for higher teams to host the qf & semi's. But since they went with the Jan 1st form I would have put all 4 games on the 1st. Noon kick off Orange, Peach or Cotton. 3pm Orange, Peach, Cotton, 6pm Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, 9pm Sugar, Rose or Fiesta.
The 12 team playoff is fine and will produce great tv. All the posters saying it will fail will be glued to their TV Jan 1st either gambling or attending watch parties. Some of yall just complain to complain. It will also make the last month of the season way more exciting. Instead of a dozen games deciding playoff spots now 30+ games will have an impact. A team's fanbase sitting at 20-25 ranking will still know they will have a chance to make the playoffs heading into November if they can run the table. The last month and rivalry week will be insane.

I very much disagree with this. Remember UGA 65, TCU 7? Having more teams doesn't mean we will get better games. We are going to see a lot of blowouts because some of the teams we see won't belong in the playoffs. Similarly, the last month of the season will be not be "way more exciting." When 12 teams make the playoffs, the product is going to be diluted. Just because a 7-4 team may still be mathematically alive does not mean it is a quality team.
We are looking at a 12 game regular season a conference championship game, and then either 3 or 4 playoff games. So a school may be playing 17 games. This is just crazy. We should have left it at 4. But those days are unfortunately gone.

Yet the week before the semi's produced to great games. Sure some games will be blowouts other games will be close. I can remember the 80's and 90's when the Super Bowls were rarely close. Blowouts are apart of sports. And i can safely assume 99% of the people bitching about the format will be tuning in to the playoffs and be filling the boards and social media with their hot takes on which 12 teams will make it in.

The fact that I will watch doesn't mean I think it's a good format. I personally think that there are too many teams in every sport's playoff. Expanded playoffs lessen the importance of the regular season. We will see that happen to CFB too.

Yeah lets go back to just voting for the best team. We don't need playoffs, SMH

Looks awesome to me. They should definitely have home games for the first two rounds, and only the semis or even the final should be at a neutral site. They should completely abandon the bowls, and just play them wherever they want to play them, and just pick a stadium for the championship.

Other than that, seems great.

It diminishes the season a bit, but it adds more meaningful games in December. Even a 12 seed that has an extremely slim chance, it still gives their fans something to be excited about.

My only concern is ND fans selling out and having them play at home with the opposing fans taking over the stadium.

The thought of ND potentially hosting a playoff vs an SEC team in December would be incredible. The weather alone could be a factor in a game.
