I was just reading an article which highlighted that without the CFP, ND and OSU would both have been at home in the old format. But, we were #3 in the final AP and coaches polls. Yet, the CFP moved both TX and Ped St ahead of us.
Another article has the head of the CFP explaining and he actually claimed that Ped St’s performance against #1 Oregon was part of their calculation. But, they lost that game (45-37).
Granted, with the CFP, it doesn’t matter… but, can someone explain the rationale for how we would have been out of a four game shootout? Is it just that the AP & Coaches polls don’t have an SEC & B1G bias, where the CFP does?
