Buchner’s throws

The OL does suck, but Buchner has played great and shitty in stretches this game himself
I can’t disagree !

But Golson5 and Get Nasty tell us that Buchner is so much better than Pyne despite what the stats reveal !

Why is his arm slot like this though?

Well, you’re first mistake is listening to anything either one says. They may HOPE for certain things to be true, but that doesn’t always make it so.

He is better than Pyne.

Dont listen to me. Forget I said a word about

Tommy Rees and Marcus Freeman said it.

So email them about it. Dont put it on me. Put it on them.

And dont cop out. Tell them you know better

It's not even a question that Buchner is better than Pyne.

With Pyne Notre Dame was forced to basically not use the field side and to stay inside the tackles... Did you not notice the horizontal game that didn't exist with Pyne...

This comparison is laughable at this point

PatIrish has another lunch date next week with some prominent ND powers and coaches. I’m sure he’ll reprimand the brass for letting DP escape to ASU..oh what coulda been in 2023 with DP behind center.

TB is both better and worse than Pyne and showed it all in one game!
A lot of his throws looked awkward arms angle and no touch, especially on short balls and too many batted down. The real shame is he will probably look way better after a whole season of playing which he didn’t get this year, so expect more growing pains. He sure showed some nice upside today though.

showed plenty of downside as well

Pyne left for the simple reason that he was told that Buchner was going to start ahead of him.

Anyone who watched Buchner throw the ball today cant seriously think that he throws a better ball than Pyne.

But don’t take my word for it, compare their stats.

As to today, bear in mind that ND ran for 265 yards, about 5.6 yards per carry, making the passing game that much easier, yet Buchner lacked accuracy to an alarming degree.

So, do the overwhelming stats lie or do they tell the truth ?

Agree, he hasn’t played a lot of college football and at times it showed. He didn’t look worse than Rattler though. He’s certainly not a young Trevor Lawrence but I’d say his story is not yet written.

I tend to avoid lunches as they eat into my work day, hence I prefer dinners. Jealousy doesn’t become you !

Perhaps the most telling stat for a QB is their TD to INT ratio, so how do Buchner’s TD to INT stats compare to Pyne’s TD to INT stats ?

My assessment of Buchner is…

Running is elite
Passing accuracy is below average
Decision making is average
Arm strength is average

Unfortunately I don’t see him as a long term solution because his passing isn’t good enough. His throwing mechanics are painful to watch and I don’t think they’ll improve.

Did Buchner contribute to the 265 yards, directly and indirectly?
