Look at history, BK hasn't had a season in SB where one QB has taken every snap. Hate to say it but at some point due to ineffectiveness or injury, Book will come in the game, moble QB's take hits and hits leads to time on the sidelines, it's just a fact of life in BK's system.

Only if adversity strikes and Kelly panics (ala Rees) will BW come out.

This period after the Spring Game and before Fall camp is worrisome to me. Away from the staff. Down time. 18-21 year olds. I am hoping the Captains had a group lecture about individual responsibility. Responsibility to themselves, the team, and the university.....if you know what I'm getting at.

Spring game is only, a reason for hope. Never put much stock in the results . The staff pretty much knows who starts ,who the front line subs are . There are surprises , players who emerge

The spring game was a complete success - No Injuries, the weather was nice and there were a lot of great recruits on site. Well, I guess I can't say complete success until we see who commits. But no injuries is the main thing for me.

If that happens this year then Kelly should be fired on the spot. Outside of a major injury Book should only see the field in blowouts.

It's imperative that Kelly doesn't call for the QB to run by design, constantly, this year. Everyone will know the threat is there. It doesn't mean you leave BW to be purposely dinged up.

Depends what you mean by "constantly".

In a full, competitive game...I would expect Wimbush to carry the ball between 10-15 times. I would expect about 5-7 of those to be "by design", unless the defense is doing something that necessitates it more
(for example, going man-to-man across the board and leaving only 3 guys near the LOS)

That's really not that much. It breaks down to 1-2 rushes per offensive series, with only 1 rush being a "called QB run".

Every single game won't ultimately be a close game, so he'll run less in those games.

Kizer averaged about 10-11 rushes per game in both of the last 2 seasons, and that wasn't an issue at all.....and Wimbush is a MUCH more natural/explosive runner than Kizer.

The type of run also matters
(ie. uncontested and untouched to the sideline v. into traffic in the middle of the field)

You are correct but you do not mention 2 key facts that result in the back up getting Pt:

Kelly cannot develop QBs and Kelly cannot identify his best QB

So besides injury, and even if Wimbush struggles, I do not expect to see Book unless we are way ahead

Placing our team's hopes on 2 inexperienced quarterbacks ..Okay , but Kelly is going to have to pick a starter ,Wimbush , and stick with him . He has to get experience and you can't keep flip flopping QBs .this team's season can be anywhere from a 9-3 to 6-6 record .We are not in Alabama ,Ohio State , Clemson ,USC,etc league . I ' m still waiting for a signature win ,Georgia, USC, . It hasn't happened since 2012
