Don't expect a big time blow out. Lets just get the win, rest some players, stay healthy, and get the W.
The Irish defense is improving.
I expect the Irish to win 20 to 0. Which will impress the committee.

You always try to build up the opposition so we can look good beating them. You made temple sound like New England Patriots. You have already stated we will win two National championships in 15 and 16 because will Fuller is returning. Now you are making a 3-7 BC team sound menacing.

BC's Front Seven is very formidable, but their back 7 is very suspect. My guess is ND will come out and throw the ball to set up the run. BC's offense might be the worst in the country, So ND should enjoy good field position, Had the pleasure to meet Steve Addazio at a Coaches Clinic at UF.

My guess is he will not try the "stall ball" Clawson attmepted to simply avoid being blown out. Playing at night at Fenway I'm sure Steve Addazio will pull out all the stops and try to spring the upset. BC cannot drive the football against ND, so expect tricks early and often.

There is a bit of skew to those numbers.

Right now Boston College is a 3-7 team. And their coach is known for coaching up his kids. Steve Adazzio is from the Urban Meyer Florida machine.

Here is some other numbers for you
They have 1 win against a team above .500 this season (N. Illinois)
They have the number 1 over all defense
Number 1 rush defense
Number 5 Passing yards allowed
Number 2 3rd down conversion stop rate

But are ranked 127 (out of 128) in total offense
123rd in Passing Offense
119th in Team Passing Efficiency
120th in Scoring Offense

Now let's compare that to ND
Total offense 26th
Rushing Offense 24th
Passing Offense 39th
Team Passing Efficiency 16th
Scoring Offense 30th

Total Defense 60
Passing Yards Allowed 36th
Team Passing Efficiency Defense 33rd
Scoring Defense 31st
15th in 3rd down conversion stop rate

And at 9-1 ND has wins over much better teams and over all better SoS.

I expect a tough game. But as much because of the field as because of the opponent. Think more of a Clemson type score 34-17.

A talented ND team plays an outmatched BC team late in the year
of a championship type of season for ND......hmmmm, where have I seen this before??

Nevermind - ND plays balls-out in the Shamrock Series games. I don't expect anything
different this year. And this years BC team is no comparison to those past BC teams.
ND 38
BC 13

That 1993 BC team was 8-2 and came in on a 8 game winning streak, was humiliated by ND 58-7 the year before, had an NFL QB in Glen Foley, was coached by NFL great and 2 x Super Bowl Champ Tom Coughlin AND ND had just come off an emotional 1 vs 2 Game of the Century win over FSU the week before. It was an absolute Perfect Storm in the making,

Yet, if Peter Bercich holds on to that INT, ND plays Nebraska for the Title. Ahhh!!!!!!!

BC's defense #'s are a little misleading too. They have played some pretty poor offenses

Louisville - 64
NCST - 74
VT - 88
Wake - 111
Howard (1-9, FCS)
Maine (3-7, FCS)

Only 3 of the teams they have played have offenses in the top 50 - N. Illinois, FSU, and DUKE

If Cage is able to play, the ND d-line will wear BC o-line out by 3rd quarter. Expect BC to run at first. Here is ND's weakness. The linebackers never seem to clog the holes allowing mediocre teams to get good yardage. VG is going to have to start lining up better or Stanford will run all day long. BC will be stopped. I think Kizer will have great numbers in the passing game as long as our o-line protects him. IF NOT ,IT WILL BE A LOW SCORING GAME.In the end,ND33-BC-6.

I expect that just like Wake Forest did with their extra week off, Boston College will change up their looks just for us and probably come out fresher than we will. Just like with Wake Forest, this is their bowl game as they have no hope of a winning record. I hope we have more fire than we did last week but ND has been through the grinder the last month and a half. The Shamrock Series has been good to us and I think we win because of superior talent and we seem to be a tougher team but it could be an ugly game if we don't get up on them early by a couple touchdowns.

So is that four teams in a row that have either had bye weeks before us or played on a Thursday the week before?

Your Damn right, Gomer !! I build up the opponent just like Lou Holtz did !! And we are going to win two National Championships in a row !! Just because you never win anything in life doesn't mean the Irish won't !! Just think about this? You pay money to respond to my posts which I post for free !! Maybe you should save your money and pay for an education, you big Dummie!

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

I believe this will be an ugly game. Can't imagine there will be too many television sets tuned into this one given the other games this weekend.

Watching our offense will be frustrating, due to BC's very good defense, and they will likely have some gadget plays drawn up to try and generate big plays against us. The news that 4 of our offensive lineman have high ankle sprains makes me very nervous, as that would explain the apparent lack of push they were generating last week. If we can't run the ball and become one dimensional, it opens up the possibility for interceptions, which would be BC's only legitimate chance to win this game imo.

That would be the nightmare scenario, however, and I don't think it will be quite that bad. Still, I would bet on the under(43) in a heartbeat for this one.

I'd be surprised if the combined score gets to 30. I see a 19-3 type of game.

BC has a solid defense and zero offense. They are starting a walk-on freshman QB, who I believe is their 3rd or 4th starter this season. I expect something like a 24-0 win for ND.

I've kind of got a bad feeling about our offense coming off a game where we didn't exactly look like a well-oiled machine against a supposedly inferior opponent. Bad timing for the offense to start struggling. Hopefully we don't get in a dogfight.
