Book cut by saints

Practice squad I'd bet.
I read the Saints plan for IB to be on the practice squad.

Happy for him.

The NFL expanding practice squads to 16 and increasing the salaries is a great deal for many of these guys. Beats working.

Oh absolutely. Him and Austin both should have done 6 years.

LMAO
Nope.

Austin would have been coming back for a 5th. Something Book used to get drafted higher. He should have learned from Book in that regard

Wish he would’ve stayed last year, he could’ve had 3 undefeated regular seasons and 3 playoff appearances in 4 years. He didn’t fit the prototype but he was efficient and hit at over 8 yds per attempt while leading us to a record 3 year scoring span. He was better than any other qb in the 4th in his 3 starting seasons and ended up top 10 in the heisman his last year. Unfortunately, he wasn’t good enough for us to win a title, but I think we needed more than book being better to win a title. I think he’ll probably bounce around the league as a backup, or maybe play in Canada. All in all, not bad for a 3 star nobody that was undersized. I’ll be pulling for him to stick somewhere just as I do every ND player. That’s my way of watching the NFL now, through a gold and blue lens. 😉

He obviously made a mistake. Should've come back for a 6th year and he would've been the #1 overall pick last year.
Is it possible that NIL money would beat an NFL contract? Is it probably for late round draft picks??

Yeah right

He's the all time winningest QB in ND History and he's horrible.

He'll be on an NFL Roster or a Practice Squad and he's horrible.

Drivel on.
College and the NFL are two completely different deferent animals.

If they didn't have the mayday they did at the QB spot he never sniffs the field.

Stop...

#1 it really doesn't mean shit what he did here...

#2 in case you insist what did he do here? Benefit from weak schedules and covid eligibility? How'd he play in the biggest of games? How was that record in those games?

#3 see #1 and #2

Coan is looking for a job also. No surprise there as well as Book
Ssshhh..

Keep that on the down low.

There are many here about the board living in fantasy land that will never understand (or admit) how deficient our QB's and or QB coaching truly is/was.

Over here in reality borough our QB position has been extremely piss poor.
Now more than ever the college game is QB driven (with an exception or two)

The Brian Kelly QB way disaster is behind us.

Here's to that.... 🍺

The BBC out in full force again I see. Yes he was great for us, and to call the position “deficient” when he was playing is idiotic. He was a top 10-15 qb in the country, to say otherwise is useless drivel form the same tired bunch. He just got picked up by the eagles too so maybe some GMs think enough of him to sign him. So dumb to call him “horrible”, he was the opposite of that.

I can only speak for myself but I never once said Book was horrible. Matter of fact it's a word I wouldn't use to describe an amateur athlete.

I might call a coach's play or decision horrible but that's not really my style. Terrible would be more like it for a coach but even then...no.

Brian Kelly and words I've used to describe...
Lousy
Fools gold
That's about it.

That all said please read my post again.
Notice how I put the QB play "and or the coaching" has been very deficient and piss poor.

Do you realize that the last ND QB to make any notable noise in the NFL was Steve Beuerlein.

Drafted in...

1987

That's correct...thirty five years ago. Drafted before I'd say a fair amount of posters on this board were even born. That's pretty sad considering we are in fact ND. If that doesn't scream a deficiency at the QB spot then maybe pathetic is more fitting.?.

Only if Jack heads to Philadelphia----Ian Book is a member of the Eagles.
Philadelphia Eagles. And good for Ian Book.

I guess the Eagles did not receive word from NDinNJ that 30-5 as a starter at Notre Dame Ian Book, is "horrible..."
