Following an OV to Navy, Hawaiian DL Amosa is on campus today through tomorrow, and then off the Vandy for an OV, and then decision time. The so-called USC lock is definitely exploring his options, and he would be a really outstanding get this late in the process. Kudos to Polian for getting him on campus.

Another target of this coaching staff is Jeremiah Orusu (sp?) a three star linebacker from Virginia. He was committed to Virginia and de committed a few days after ND offered. He is also being recruited by Michigan St, but will be making his OV to ND tomorrow. Staff really want this kid as they think he has the perfect combination of skills to excel at the Rover position. At 6-2 and 188, He's too small for a traditional linebacker role, a step too slow for Safety, but a perfect fit for Rover.

Another Polian target, Harris a DL from Arizona, was visited by Polian and Elko yesterday I believe, followed by the usual positive statements about the visit, but nothing to suggest he will decommit from ASU where both his parents went to college.

The Nebraska commit, Demetrius Thomas that has been discussed as a target, never received an offer after Elston visited him.

The Maryland DE Wardlow visited ND last weekend, and was visited at home last night by Elston, but nothing came from his OV to suggest he is leaning our way. He has an OV to VT this weekend as well. Would love to get this guy but seems to be trending away.

Last weekend's big recruiting effort on campus seems mostly a bust. Hard to close the deal with only a few weeks relationship with these late offers, but still the news coming out of this weekend was mostly negative. Norwood, the Tenn commit who de committed upon receiving the ND offer, ended up committing to Oklahoma yesterday. The Indiana kid committed to Penn St., Hippenhammer isn't saying anything to suggest he will de commit, and Franklin has an in home visit with him this week. Fields, The kid we wanted as a Safety, and who many thought was a strong ND lean, sent out some negative seeming tweets while on campus, and has since said he felt some other ND players didn't want him there. He announces next Monday but doesn't look good for ND. Gavin Holmes, the WR from Texas we targeted, committed elsewhere, Baylor I think. And as stated above, It doesn't look like we did anything to move DE Wardlow to de commit from Maryland.

The top offensive target, four star athlete Yeast remains committed to Louisville, but appears still interested in ND, but probably a long shot. Cal commit San Diego Athlete Genmark Heath still sounds Very interested in ND.

We may be lucky to finish this class with Orusu and Heath, but hope Bodi and Polian bring Amosa into the fold. Hope others here have more recruiting info or corrections.

Add Harris from Arizona to the short list of those making an OV to ND this weekend.

Think Amosa's interest is due to Sc taking that 5* from Washington. Name escapes me, Polynesian kid. Jay Tufele trending to them as well.

Amosa was already scheduled to visit before the five star commit that you reference, but I agree that it certainly has to increase his level of interest in ND.

Thanks Telx1,

It is tough to build meaningful relationships with recruits in just a few weeks, but that's what our new coaches have been challenged with.

What about Oliver Martin?
I've read that Martin has basically shut down any direct communication with everyone. His dad had nice positive things to say after Martin's visit, but that's all we've heard. Have no idea where this one is headed; but he at least is someone we've been recruiting since summer.

Michigan in it late with him as well.....my guess is ND as this is how he was leaning and likely wants it silent so not to upset the hometown fans in Iowa.

not late at all. Martin took an unofficial to UM last summer for BBQ at the Big House. Harbaugh was in home with him this week and he is taking an OV to Ann Arbor this weekend.
