Having said the above there is a silver lining in this game.
Sometimes when you're rolling it's hard to know areas of improvement until you get exposed a bit.
So far this year we've played pretty much the same type offenses and schemes.
Wake came in and used a rolling pocket every long pass play. The quick slant was basically the only three step drop quick release play from that scheme. The rest of the passing plays were with a rolling pocket on which we couldn't get any pressure on their QB.
Now you'd think we would have stressed keeping contain after the fourth or fifth moving pocket but for whatever reason we could not hold that edge.
You can bet anything that next week Miami will test our contain with similar plays.
You want to know how good Elko is... we'll see the adjustments made to combat this going forward.
These are the games that are beneficial weeks from now after correcting a weakness.
